CHAPTER 1

Introduction

The extent of Academic Performance of Grade 8 students can influence their

Academic Performance in Personal Development. Every students should know what

are the extent of Academic Performance that must apply to have a good result or

influence towards in Academic Performance in Personal Development of Grade 8

students.

According to Kuzmin, Kopylov, Kudryavtsev, Tolspotyatov, Galimou, and

Ionova (2016), higher education ensure the students professional training and to

their ability to be independent. If the students are independent they are able to apply

the extent of Academic Performance that can help to their Academic Performance in

Personal Development.

According to Hadassah Littman-Ovadia and ShiriLavy (2015), said that if there

is strength to the characteristics of the students they are able to express their

thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, they can have a self-confidence and comfortable

to show/express their learnings.

According to Candeias, Rebelo, and Oliveira(2008), said that the culture,

economic, social, and family become the model of the students to be their motivation

on how to be more perceive in applying their attitudes toward in their academic

performance.

The attitudes of students are based also in the phenomenon that surrounds

them. This professional attitudes are able to maintain the good grades of the

students towards in their Academic Performances in Personal Development.


The purpose of this study is to know the academic performance of Grade 8

students in personal development, researcher aims to explore the different extent of

academic performance of Grade 8 students towards in Personal Development.

Conceptual Framework

The concept of this study is to determine the academic performance of Grade

8 yakal in Filipino.

As shown in the diagram the study will examine the dependent variable by

comparing two or more groups of individual. The outcome of the study is to

determine the academic performance of Grade 8 yakal student in Filipino.

Statement of the Problem

This research aims to know the academic performance of Grade 8 yakal

student in Filipino. This study will specifically answer the following questions.

1. What is the academic performance of Grade 8 yakal female students in

Filipino ?

2. What is the academic performance of Grade 8 yakal male student in Filipino?

Scope and Limitations

This study focuses to the academic performance of Grade 8 yakal student in

Filipino.

The study will be conducted in Kalian National High School Campus. The

research respondents will be all the students from Grade 8 yakal with the total

population of 26.

Significance of the Study

This research is important for the students for them to know the Academic

Performance of Grade 8 students in Personal Development, as this research will be

conducted. This will know the Academic Performance of Grade 8 students in

Personal Development. The students will also know the attitudes that can help them

in their Academic Performances. This study also benefits the students on how to

deal their attitudes towards in their Academic Performances in Personal

Development. The students may gain understanding on how to deal with their

attitudes affects their Academic Performances in Personal Development.

Students. It is beneficial for the students especially when they are educated enough

by their teachers for their responsibilities.


Parents. Shall be relieve from getting stress when their child become responsible

regarding on their Academic Performance.

Teachers. Help a student on how to control and manage the attitude of every

students to be responsible especially for the Academic Performances of students.

Definition of Terms

For the clarification of the terms being used in this study, the following are

hereby defined.

Academic. Is a portion of an academic year, the time during which an educational

institution holds classes.

Comparative. Is an involving the act of looking at the ways that things are alike or

different.

Performance. Is an act of performing using knowledge as distinguished from merely

possessing it.

Study. The activity or process of learning about something by reading, memorizing

facts, attending school and etc.


CHAPTER 3

METHODOLOGY

This chapter discusses the methods utilized by the researcher, the design,

respondents, environment, procedure/ data gathering, instrument, sampling design

and size, and data analysis procedure.

Research Design

In order to analyze the information collected, the sampling method of

research was adopted in this study. Simple random sampling method is adopted for

data collection.

Research Locale

This study was conducted in Kalian National High School. Kalian National

High School can be located in Kalian Margosatubig, Zamboanga Del Sur

Research Respondents

The research respondents are the random 15 students of Grade 8 yakal if

Kalian National High School.

Research Instrument

The primary tool for this study is the random sampling technique, which I

utilized to determine whether the Grade 8 yakal students had the necessary scores

to pass their exam.


Data Gathering Procedure

In order to collect data from the two programs where the study will be done,

the researcher will formally request permission in a letter. The researchers’ and

advisor’s signatures on the letter will serve as proof that the study’s conduct was

authorized at the relevant institution. To guarantee that the respondents’ involvement

in the study is voluntary, the researchers will also give them an informed permission

form. Being a junior student, being enrolled in school, and giving agreement to

participate in the study are requirements for eligibility in the study.


CHAPTER 4

PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

The chapter presents the presentation, analysis and interpretation of data and

findings based on the data gathered.

Base on the findings that I got that the Grade 8 yakal has Ho accepted standard.

SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Academic achievement is considered as key criteria to judge one’s total

potentialities and capacities. Apart from academic achievement study habits and

self-concept equally keep importance in students’ academic spheres. This study is a

quantitative study which was designed to investigate the performance on study,

academic achievement and self-concept of school going in Kalian National High

School.
