Bibliography

A bibliography or citation page lists the sources that were used

to create the paper, in alphabetical order, at the very end of your
paper.

Purpose of Bibliography

The main purpose of a bibliography entry is to give credit to authors

whose work you've consulted in your research. It also makes it easy for a
reader to find out more about your topic by delving into the research that
you used to write your paper. In the academic world, papers aren't written
in a vacuum; academic journals are the way new research on a topic
circulates and previous work is built upon.
Bibliography entries must be written in a very specific format, but that
format will depend on the particular style of writing you follow. Your teacher
or publisher will tell you which style to use, and for most academic papers it
will be either MLA, American Psychological Association (APA)

Two Formats of Citations

MLA (Modern Language Association) style is the simplest way to

do this is to put all of the source information in parentheses at the end
of the sentence.

APA (American Psychological Association) style is most commonly

used to cite sources for research and other scholarly works.
Difference between MLA and APA Formats

In-text Citation (Author was mentioned)

MLA- Add the page number at the last part of the paragraph. (12)

APA- Add the page number at the last part of the paragraph. (p.12)

Parenthetical Citation

MLA- Add Author’s last name, the page number at the last part of the paragraph
and then the period. (Scott 12).

APA- Add Author’s last name, the year of publication and the page number
(optional) at the last part of the paragraph. (Scott, 2015,p.12)

Parenthetical Citation (Several Authors)

MLA- Add Author’s last names, the page number at the last part of the
paragraph and then the period.
(Scott and Jones 12). or ( Scott, et al. 12).

APA- Add Author’s last name, the year of publication and the page
number (optional) at the last part of the paragraph. (Scott & Jones,
2015, p.12) or (Scott, et al., 2015)

For Bibliography

MLA calls it Work Citations.

APA calls it References.
