EXPERIENCE

Training is one way to lead us to be more skillful. It makes

you a globally competitive individual. During my on-the-job
training at Crown Regency Resort and Convention Center, located
at Boracay, 12 hours daily. In my first day, I was assigned at
the public area maintaining the hotels cleanliness. I swept,
mopped the floor, wiped the stairways, familiarizing the
chemicals they used in maintaining the hotels freshness and
cleanliness and get the foam from the rooftop of the hotel by
drying it from the sun.

I was also assigned at the linen area where at first; I

familiarize all the linen they used, picking up the soiled linen
in every room, segregating the soiled linens according to each
item, counting the soiled linens and recording it from the log
book. When some guests are requesting linens from the pantry
area, I was also the one who deliver linens at the pantry area.

In some other days, I was assigned at the room service. On

my first day, the room attendant oriented me and taught me well
on what to do like checking out the rooms, on how to make up and
set up the room and especially on how to serve the guest on their
standard. The room attendant gave me also some tip on how to work
fast and finish well. If there is a check out, I helped the room
attendant to make up the room, gathering the garbage and put it
on the garbage bag. I wiped the walls, the appliances and all
parts of the room especially the comfort room, because the
comfort room is the most sensitive part of the room. I set up the
beds, swept and mopped the floors, cleaned the comfort room and
dried it up.

Then I was also assigned at the hot kitchen and pastry area.
At the hot kitchen, I sliced the ingredients and meats, assisting
the chefs. I swept and mopped the floor, wiped the stoves and
washed the used kitchen tools. After I finish working at the hot
kitchen, I also helped working at the pastry area assisting the
chefs in slicing, preparing and baking some pastry products.
In our experiences we learned a lot of things being
responsible and to practice our personal and time management. We
must consider small thing which make us to improve ourselves.
