How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:
☐ Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the student and mostly
practice based.

☒ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic of
learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The teacher facilitates
the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

☒ Problem-based and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems and completing projects to
demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared outside of the classroom.

newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing
it via an outside source.)

with descriptors of each geographical region in Georgia. Students will then be prompted to create
their own podcast describing one geographical region Georgia along with what plants and animals
live there. In class, I will guide students and show them how to create a podcast as well as help them
create accounts. Students will be guided through each step and how to use Spotify for Podcasters.
Students will be required to create a script for their podcast and turned into me for feedback. Then,
students will use time outside of the classroom to create their podcast describing one geographical
region in Georgia and the plants and animals that live there. I will provide feedback to students by
writing comments on their podcast as well as giving grades using the guided rubric that students will
be given. I will end the lesson by providing students an opportunity to share their podcast with the
lass, however this will not be mandatory.
Managing student learning:
Students will be given a chart with the geographical regions in Georgia with descriptors. Students
will first be shown how to create the podcast. Then students will be given two class days to write a
script for their short podcast. I will then make comments and provide feedback for each students’
script. From there, they will be free to begin creating their podcast.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Reflection:
This activity is supported by UDL Multiple Means of Engagement. Students have the voice in this
activity by picking which region they would like to talk about. Students are able to create their own
script. Another means of engagement is the option to share their podcast with the class.
Reflection: I believe the activity I created will give students the opportunity to explore and create
something of their own during their learning journey. I also believe this will give students
opportunities to use higher ordered thinking skills such as remembering, understanding, applying,
analyzing, evaluating, and creating. I also think this will positively impact their knowledge and use of
technology in preparation for further grades.
