OBJECTIVES:
To find the thickness of given wire and sphere using screw gauge.
To gain practical experience in it.
Rubrics
Theory:
(a). Volume of given wire = πr2 h in m3
Where r = radius of wire (in m)
H=length of wire (in m)
(b). Volume of sphere = (4/3) πr3 (m3)
Where r=radius of sphere (in m)
Procedure:
Measure the zero correction and least count of screw gauge.
Measure the diameter of given wire and sphere using screw gauge.
Find PSR,HSR and CHSR using screw gauge.
Calculate PSR+ (CHSRxLC).
Measure the length of given wire by using meter scale.
Find volume of wire and sphere using the formula V = πr2 h&V
( 4/3)πr3.
Repeat the experiment 4 to 5 times.
Mathematial Modeling:
Department of Electrical Engineering
Precautions:
1. At a time rotate the screw in one direction to avoid blacklash error.
2. Zero error should be observed carefully and taken into consederation.
Sources of error:
1. The wire may not be of uniform section.
2. Blacklash error may not be exist because it connot be removed carefully.
Result:
a.
Diameter of given wire d =8.09 m
Volume of wire V = 10.08 m3
b.
Diameter of sphere d = 8.09 m
Volume of sphere V = 10.09 m3
References:
Practical performed in LAB.
Conclusion:
To find the diameter thickness of wire and to measure the diameter of sphere.
