SEMI DETAILED LESSON PLAN FOR PRESCHOOL

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to:
a. Sing the alphabet song;
b. Read the letters in the alphabet; and
c. Trace the first ten letters in the alphabet.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic: Alphabets

III. LEARNING PROCEDURE

A. Routinary Activities
B. Review
 The teacher will begin the lesson by asking the pupils about what they know in alphabets.
C. Motivation
 The teacher will show the pupils some flashcards and ask them to identify the letters
shown.
D. Activities
 The teacher will flash the alphabet song to enrich the pupils’ retention on alphabets.
 The teacher will reshow the flashcards to allow the pupils identify and write the letter
shown on the board.

E. Abstraction
 The teacher will repeat the alphabet song. Teach the students the lyrics and encourage
them to sing along.
 Randomly show some alphabets to know what they remembered.
F. Application
 The teacher will give some print outs of the first ten letters of the alphabets for the
students to trace.

IV. ASSESSMENT:
 The teacher will provide a matching-type assessment only if time allows.
