Read the case study and answer the questions below

D&G Company Ltd

D&G Company Ltd is a garment factory where there are forty employees. The high labour
turnover and absenteeism are the major problems encountered by the company. Solely sequel to
these two reasons, there are constant productivity drop downs and the company is not able to
maintain their deadlines.
According to the HR manager, the current situation can only be fixed by providing the
employees with proper training and development program. He wants to take the approval for the
employee T&D program. Nevertheless, CEO of the company does not like to give the approval.
His argument is that T&D programs will waste company money.

1) You as the CEO of the company, convince the HR manager that T&D is wasting
shareholders’ money. (Marks 10)

2) You as the HR manager, convince the CEO that the T&D expenditure is not a waste but a
valuable investment. (Marks 10)

3) Briefly explain the factors which management should consider when selecting a training
program. (Marks 10)

4) HR manager was able to convince the CEO that the benefits are greater than the costs of
giving training. HR manager was asked by the CEO to provide him with a report
describing the methodology that he is going to use in giving training to the employees.
