My Mathematics Learning Experiences in This Time of Pandemic

S.Y. 2020-2021

Mathematics is an essential component of human logic and thought, as well as attempts

to comprehend the world and ourselves. Mathematics is a great approach to develop mental
discipline while also encouraging logical reasoning and mental rigor. Furthermore,
understanding the topics of other educational courses such as science, social studies, and even
music and art is dependent on mathematical knowledge.

During the coronavirus outbreak, teachers must change their typical teaching practices to
accommodate classes that now take place online or through various learning modes as a result of
the pandemic. Teachers are reducing learning expectations, abandoning answer-gathering
assessments, and supplementing instruction with math games and applications. They're also
enlisting the help of parents and looking for new methods to engage pupils away from their
computers, such as through courses on how arithmetic and social justice interact.

My experiences in answering my mathematics modules have been difficult. Why did I

say it was difficult? Because I am not excellent at arithmetic and yet I have easily and effectively
learned math while teachers are teaching in front of me. In my case, I need to ask more questions
or study more to fully comprehend the subject. I am the only one who accomplishes my modules
from the first to the third quarter, and I sometimes pass them late on Wednesday or Thursday.

When I learned that I had poor grades in mathematics and other disciplines, I was
unhappy and upset. When my brother found out about my school results, he was shocked and
disappointed. He was furious with my teachers and me. He was upset with me because of my
poor math grades and told me that he often encouraged me to read and answer the problems
correctly and effectively. Also telling me that he asked me if there were any queries I didn't
know the answers to so that he could assist me or work on some projects. My brother was so
confident in me that he believed I did well in school. He also wondered why my teachers didn't
pay me a visit or contact or inform my brother about my grades. My brother is quite worried
because he is also a teacher, and knowing about this topic has caused him a tremendous deal of
distress. He told me that teachers need to know what to do in order for me to not fail the subject,
and that they need to take the lead in this regard. He went on to say that many students get good
grades in all areas but aren't the ones who answer the questions, whilst others get bad grades

since they are the ones who answer the questions. Teachers must consider this and be more open-
minded in this situation.

To make my brother happy and catch up on my grades, I decided to devote more time to
my studies, particularly in mathematics. I realized that studying effectively could help me grow
into a better person who is knowledgeable in all aspects of life. Education, in my perspective, is
the single most significant aspect in obtaining success.
