ASSERTION.
AN EMPLOYER RECEIVED A CURRICULUM VITAE OF AN APPLICANT WHO
WAS A FRESH COLLEGE GRADUATE. THE COMPANY WAS LOOKING FOR
SOMEONE WHO HAD A COLLEGE DEGREE, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND
SKILLS. AS THE EMPLOYER EVALUATED THE APPLICANT'S CREDENTIALS,
IT WAS FOUND OUT THAT HE LACKS WORK EXPERIENCE. THE
CREDENTIALS WERE IMPRESSIVE – A STUDENT LEADER, AN HONOR
STUDENT, A VOLUNTEER IN THE COMMUNITY. HE WANTED TO HIRE THE
APPLICANT, BUT SOMETHING WAS MISSING, WORK EXPERIENCE. HENCE.
HE WROTE AN EVALUATION AND SUBMITTED IT TO HIS SUPERIOR FOR
CONSIDERATION

STATEMENTS ABOUT THE CONTENT AND THE PROPERTIES OF THE TEXT.
THESE STATEMENTS MAY BE DECLARED EMPHATICALLY AS IF IT IS TO
BE UNDERSTOOD AS A FACT.
COUNTERCLAIMS
USUALLY, A TEXT CONTAINS A CLAIM WHICH SUGGESTS AN IDEA TO THE
READER. IN TURN, THE READER MAY HAVE AN OPPOSING ARGUMENT
THAN THE WRITER, WHICH IS CALLED A COUNTERCLAIM.

EMPHATIC ASSERTION
I KNOW THAT THE PHILIPPINES, BEFORE PRE-SPANIARD COLONIZATION,
HAS THEIR SYSTEM OF WRITING CALLED THE ‘BAYBAYIN’. THIS ALONE
PROVES THAT THE FILIPINOS ARE LITERATE AS OPPOSED TO THE
SPANIARDS’ CLAIM.
I-LANGUAGE ASSERTION
UPON READING THAT THE ANCIENT FILIPINO CIVILIZATION IS DIVIDED
INTO THREE SOCIAL CLASSES NAMELY THE ‘MAHARLIKA’, ‘TIMAWA’
AND ‘ALIPIN’, I FEEL PROUD BECAUSE OF THE CIVILIZATION SOCIAL
ADVANCEMENT AND AT THE SAME TIME SAD BECAUSE OF THE
PROMULGATION OF SOCIAL DIFFERENTIATION. WITH THIS FINDING, I
WANT TO DO FURTHER RESEARCH ON THE EXISTENCE OF THESE
SOCIAL CLASSES’ STIGMA.
