Strategy: Picture collage
The teacher will post a different picture about weather condition. After that the
teacher will ask the student what is the weather condition yesterday and compare it
today’s weather condition.

The Weather Condition and the Elements of Weather.
Weather- the condition of earth’s atmosphere at a given time and place.
Atmosphere- layers of gasses that surround the earth.
Note: Weather is unpredictable. It can change from day to day. on some day the
weather is cloudy or rainy. On other days, it is sunny.
The weather can also change within a day. It may be sunny in the morning, but it can
be rainy in the afternoon.
Kinds of Weather
Fine- during sunny day, the sun shines bright and the air feel warm. You see feather-
like clouds in the sky during sunny day too.
Fair- during cloudy days, the sun behind thick cotton-like clouds. There is a big
chances pf rain during this weather.
Rainy- its raining for most of the day, dark clouds bring rain. Rain may cause flood if
it continues for a long period of time.
Stormy- day when there is heavy rainfall and strong wind. The sky is covered with
thick dark clouds during stormy day. You feel strong wind too. You may occasionally
lightning and hear thunder too.
ELEMENTS THAT CAN AFFECT THE WEATHER
1. Air temperature
The degree of hotness and coldness of an object is called temperature.
Thermometer- a tool that use to measure temperature of the air during a certain
time.
2. Wind
Winds affect weather condition. Wind is a moving air.
Breeze- when the winds move gently and slowly.
3. Clouds and Rain
Clouds and rain can also affect weather conditions. Watching the clouds can tell
what the weather will be like for the day.

The following are the different types of clouds.


a. Cirrus clouds are the highest clouds. They look like feather. These clouds signal fine
weather.

b. Cumulus clouds indicate fair weather. These clouds are


found nearer the ground. They are floppy, white, and cotton-
like.

c. Stratus clouds are found near the ground. They bring light
rain or drizzle. These clouds are gray and dark billows, like
layer of cotton.

d. Nimbus clouds can also be found near the ground. These


clouds are thick and gray, without any definite shape. When
they cover the sky, it means that the weather is stormy.
