PERFORMANCE STANDARD: The learner critiques a chosen sample of each pattern


of development focusing on information selection, organization, and development.

among patterns of development in writing across disciplines - Description (EN11/12RWS-

I. OBJECTIVES
a) distinguish the two purposes of a description as a pattern of development in
writing,
b) Construct descriptive paragraph in a given topic, and
c) Valuing modern heroes and heroine in our society during pandemic

COVID-19 Health and Safety Protocols in the Classroom:
a) Please wear your facemask from the start up to end of the class.
b) Always wash your hand before entering and leaving the classroom.
c) Observe Social Distancing at all times.

B. Review:
 Ask the following questions:
1. What was our topic last meeting?
2. What is narration?
3. How many elements of narration we have?
4. Who can give the importance of narration?

C. Motivation:

 The teacher will ask students close their eyes for about 5 minutes.
 Students will visualize their future after 10 years. (dream house, car,
career, family).
 The teacher will randomly pick at least 3 male and 3 Female students
to express their imagination.

D. Lesson Proper:
1. ACTIVITY
a. A picture will be shown to the students.
b. Students will going to write everything they have observed in the
picture as many as they can.
c. After 3 minutes, the teacher will ask the following questions:
 What have you observed in the picture?
 How many persons did you saw in the picture?
 What does the picture depict?

2. ANALYSIS

Ask:
 Who are consider as modern heroes in our society?
 Is it only the health workers who are front liners?
 From our previous activity, how will you come up with that kind
of observation?
 When describe things, what considerations do we considered?

3. ABSTRACTION
 Define Description as a Pattern of development in writing.
 Discuss the purposes of a description.

hearing news about the sacrifices of our front liners?

2. My deck is a warm brown rectangle of wood whose surface reveals the
scratched impression of a thousand school assignment.
3. She looks fabulous with her blue skin fitted jeans, white shirts and red
lipstick that matches her sophisticating aura.
4. The color, shape, ride, and memories of a car are more important than
horsepower, price, and fuel efficiency.
5. The kitchen table is rectangular, seventy-two inches long and thirty inches
