RE: APOLOGY FOR USING CORPORAL PUNISHMENT

I write to apologize for using corporal punishment to two learners that is IDRIS HUSSEIN and OMAR
RAJAB.

I was overwhelmed with anger by the time I was punishing the child. The child had disrespected my
authority by talking to me rudely and throwing a hand at me. It came to my knowledge that some
learners are untouchable in this school. They can’t be directed. They fight children in senior school and
nothing happens to them. One in 7R was caught with bhang and nothing happened after being taken to
the school authority. A student throwing a hand at teacher has always been wrong. I don’t know if tsc
accepts that. If I'm talking to parents about performance of their children, then I talk about discipline
and classroom contribution. Some colleagues in senior school have helped put the school in order when
we seemed to be incapable of handling the 430 students we have. I salute them all.

I also understand the hatred that exist from a section of my colleagues. May be I fail to do things their
way. I have worked with learners very well. For those who like education matters, I am their hero. I
normally ask God why did the sub county director gave me Word Bank JSS. But I now understand that
God wants me change something. I have done so many things good but parents, police and sub county
director have never been called to congratulate me. The incident of Monday 19th June 2023 has made
me learn something. Things have been exaggerated to bring me down so that the status quo can prevail.
I understand that I may lose my job in the process but just know that I have come to work and teaching
include restoring order in place that has chaos and no plan. I am strictly doing my job. Kindly, don’t
worry about my abilities. No need for the alarm. The principal that the school will get in future will find a
school not a market place or a night club. Once more, I am sorry for what happened and will not repeat.
