addressing reading difficulties, particularly in the early

elementary years. This study investigates the

relationship between reading interventions and the reading

comprehension skills of Grade 3 pupils in San Vicente

Elementary School. The research aims to assess the

effectiveness of specific reading interventions implemented

in the school to enhance the reading comprehension

abilities of Grade 3 students. The objectives of this

research were to find out the impact of Reading

Intervention to the Reading Comprehension of grade 3

student to describe the relationship of Reading

Intervention and Reading comprehension, to investigate what

are the impact of Reading Intervention to the Reading

comprehension of grade 3 student, to seek recommendation on

how to enhance or improve the Reading Intervention program

on pupils with reading comprehension. To analyze the data,

the researchers used a set of questionnaires with parts.

Part I it deals with the Reading Intervention and the part

2 deal with the Comprehension of Grade 3 pupils in San

Vicente Elementary School. To achieve the research

objectives, a mixed-methods approach will be employed,

incorporating quantitative and qualitative data collection

methods. The quantitative aspect involves administering

pre- and post-intervention reading comprehension tests to

measure the students’ reading performance and track

improvements over time. Additionally, student demographic

information and academic records will be examined to

identify potential factors that may influence reading

comprehension outcomes. Complementing the quantitative

data, qualitative data will be gathered through interviews

and observations to gain insights into the students’

experiences with the implemented reading interventions.

Teachers, parents, and school administrators will be

interviewed to understand their perspectives on the

effectiveness of the interventions, the challenges

encountered during implementation, and their

recommendations for improvement. In analysing the data, the

researcher classified pupils’ ability based on the survey

then interpreted the questionnaires. Researcher used Likert

Scale in measuring the responses on the questionnaires and

to analyze the data to know the factor that affect on

students’ comprehension ability. The result showed that in

terms of word recognition grade III pupils often used their

word recognition to enhance their reading comprehension

through reading intervention. Study also indicates that the

pupils can improve in reading comprehension. In addition,

it found out that that critical thinking have effect in the

reading comprehension. Also vocabulary is important to the

Grade III pupils.

Eventually, the research aims to provide evidence-based

recommendations for the improvement of reading

interventions and instructional practices in San Vicente

Elementary School. The outcomes of this study may guide

future interventions and policies to foster effective

reading instruction, leading to improved reading

comprehension outcomes for Grade 3 pupils and overall

academic achievement. The study’s findings may also have

implications for other educational institutions seeking to

enhance reading comprehension skills at the Grade 3 level.
