Independent Challenge 1
This exercise requires students to write a thank you letter for a job interview to the person whose business
card is shown in Figure 1-18 on page Word 21. Student letters will vary, but should match the format and
be similar in content to the following sample solution letter. Look to see that the letter includes a personal
letterhead, is properly addressed, and that students use proper line spacing between the date, inside
address, salutation, body paragraphs, closing, signature block, and enclosure notation. Print the WD 1-

Independent Challenge 2
This exercise requires students to open a file (a memo), save it with a new filename, revise and format the
memo header, and then save the changes. The content and format of student solutions should match WD
1-Share Memo.docx. Print the WD 1-Share Memo.docx to better see the sample solutions.
Independent Challenge 3
This exercise requires students to use a letter template to write a business letter. Student letters will vary,
but should match the format and be similar in content to the following sample solution letter. Print the WD
