COURSE Syllabus in MATHEMATICS FOR GRADE 8

2019-2020
A. COURSE INFORMATION

Course Code Mathematics 8

Course Title Integrated Mathematics
Course Credit
5 hours/week
(hours/week)
This course is designed to introduce topics in Elementary Algebra as continuation with the topics in Grade 7 as well as the continuation of
Geometry and Statistics. Specifically, the Axiomatic Development of Geometry, Triangle Congruence and Inequalities in a Triangle, the
Course Description measurement in variability and Basic Concepts of Probability in statistics. It is suggested that the first two quarters of the academic year be
devoted to algebra, third quarter lessons will be continuation of algebra and geometry and the fourth quarter lesson be the last continuation of
geometry and statistics.
The students will be encouraged to study in groups at other times singly. Occasionally they should be encouraged to practical works whenever
possible to prove the truth of some principles that are applicable to their daily lives in order to make the subject more interesting and
Course Objectives
meaningful to them. This course should be taught as practical as possible so that the students will not only read, write and talk but also find
pleasure in the usefulness of mathematics in their lives.
