General Manager at PT Semeru Surya Semen which is located in Handil, East Kalimantan. As the General
Manager, I am tasked to oversee the factory operations in the manufacturing and production of Cement. Key
Performance Indicators include being responsible for the manufacturing process of cement including
production planning and control, scheduling, planning & reviewing current and future resources required
whilst ensuring an efficient manufacturing process ensuring delivery to customers in time and with quality
which exceeds expectations with the lowest cost possible, safely.

Responsibilities include ensuring adequate stock of inward raw materials namely limestone, gypsum and fly-
ash. Focus includes ensuring quality of raw materials, work-in-process inventory until the finished goods
(cement) are packed and dispatched to the customer’s premises.

Previously, with IJM Group for fifteen years of which a decade was spent in India as Country Manager,
building, growing and expanding the business which also included managing the Industries Division’s
Regional Operations. Continuously enhanced and improved profitability by focusing on improvements in
production efficiency, delivering better quality products which resulted in improved and enhanced top and
bottom-lines that consistently exceeded the annual budgeted figures.

Recruited to plan, coordinate and direct the daily operations for PT Semeru Surya Semen (Semen
Kalimantan) which includes overseeing the production planning, quality control, shipping, logistics &
distribution and also the maintenance of the factory’s machinery and equipment. Responsible for
the following:-
• Orchestrating and directing the overall activities of the operations of the factory in terms of production cost,
quality assurance and control, production planning & scheduling, inventory control and resource
utilization.
• Oversee the factory operations which include production planning & control, quality of raw materials received &
output of finished goods, raw materials and inventory purchases, human resources recruitment and
allocation, accounting and logistics.

• Responsible for ensuring monthly production targets are achieved, production planning & monitoring,
raw materials and resource allocation and manpower scheduling
• To monitor the consistency and quality of inward raw materials from suppliers, direct production activities
including logistics & shipping to customers.
• Spearhead the reviews of operational targets and drive strategies adopted and strive for continuous
improvement of quality, efficiency and cost.
• KPI Deliverables include reducing the cost of production, improve on the machine utilization, monitor and
improve quality control and processes and ensure timely delivery of products to our customers.
• Review, recommend and upgrade systems and controls regularly to ensure delivery of monthly results are
achieved in a cost-efficient manner.

Hired to oversee and direct the daily operations at Ekowood International Berhad (Listed on the Main Board
of KLSE) whilst continuously making improvements to the existing manufacturing process, production
planning & control, shipping & logistics including ensuring the quality of Engineered Hardwood Flooring
Products which are produced for both the local domestic as well as the global market.

• Responsibilities include production planning and scheduling, monitoring, raw materials, resource
allocation, manpower scheduling and monthly production planning.

Hired to ensure both the trademark and patent divisions delivered on their annual budgeted revenues and
also bottom-line. Responsible to drive up revenue and enhance the company’s bottom line. Contributed to
their top line (revenue) where I had the opportunity to lead in closing the sales and confirming trademark
applications from key accounts and Large Corporate Client’s (Construction & Building Materials Segment).

IJM CONCRETE PRODUCTS PVT. LTD., HYDERABAD, INDIA 2004 TO MAC 2014
Country Manager (India)

Initially hired to manage operations for a Malaysian Construction Conglomerate’s subsidiary which had
a concrete division and subsequently selected by the board of directors to start-up and expand another
subsidiary in Hyderabad, India.

Given the opportunity to lead the operations for three business units (ready mix concrete, aggregates and
welded wire mesh), overseeing sales and collections, controlling costs and product quality, monitoring
monthly production targets, maintaining production and machinery efficiency, and exceeding quarterly
budgets. Fully accountable for company’s profit and loss (P&L). A Board member for IJM Concrete Products
(Pakistan), IJM Concrete Products Private Limited (India) and IJM Steel Products Private Limited (India).

 Built and grew the subsidiary from its maiden conception to a total of 6 batching plants in four different
 Indian states along with 2 quarries and a welded wire mesh plant.
  Grew our market share for supplying building materials for construction predominantly in South India.
 Introduced (to architects, developers and builders), conceptually sold and went to market with
Welded Wire Mesh to the construction sector in major metropolitan cities in India.
 Obtained ISO 9001:2008 and 14001:2004 certifications by implementing and adapting Malaysian systems.
Implemented Oracle People-soft ERP system for all ready mix concrete plants and quarries.
