1. Introduction
In this modern era is often called as an era of technology,
because many people are use technology. Technology is human
knowledge in to blend a resource to produce a product. Technological
developments have a positive impact on all areas, one of them is
education. Technology is useful in our life, especially in education. It
can be seen that many teachers use technology as a media used in
teaching and learning process. Not only that, technology also makes
it easier for the educational world. There are many of technology that
people can use in education such as using computer and internet
network. Computer and Internet networks can be used as a student
media or study source to get more information about English material.
The use of technology can give a positive impact in learning and
teaching English process.
In English learning, to make students enjoy and happy to learn
English the teacher should make the effective and success in teaching
process. To create the effective and success in English learning, the
teacher should use the creative and interesting learning media for
students in the classroom. The use of creative learning media can
improve student’s motivation in English learning. Not only that, the
use of technology in teaching and learning process is important to get
more students attention in English learning. Students will more pay
attention to the material given if teacher use technology in learning
English. There are many of medias technology that can use in teaching
and learning process such as You Tube, Facebook, Video, Vlog,
Twitter and many other media used in various purpose. You Tube is
one of interest media that often used in teaching and learning process.
Having a good English skill is important, starting from
speaking, listening, reading and writing. Therefore, the teacher
should be used a technology in teaching English. The use of
technology in teaching and learning process can make the teacher

3. Research Methodology
3.1. Method
This study is use quantitative method within design
survey. Quantitative research is a structure way of collecting
and analysing data obtained from different source. A survey
design is use in this research to know the impact of using
social media in EFL learner can be more appropriate. In
analysing the student’s perception, the researcher use
questionnaire open – ended to know the student’s perception
about using You Tube in learning English / ESL.
3.2. Time and Location
This study is conduct to all student of junior high school,
senior high school and college student’s in Jakarta. This
research is conducted to all student of junior high school,
senior high school and college students in Jakarta. this
research is conducted online because of the covid 19 was
widespread in Jakarta. This study is implemented on April
2021.
3.3. Respondent/ population sample
The population of this study is all students of junior high
school, senior high school and college students in Jakarta.
The total population of all students in Jakarta for about 300
students. The writer used cluster random sampling in
selecting the sample of the research. The sample of this study
is consist of 100 students in Jakarta.
3.4. Instrument
The writer will use questionnaire closed – ended that
consist of twenty question using Likert Scale which related
to the student’s perception toward using YouTube in EFL
classroom. The questionnaires made use of the Likert scale
