Lesson Plan in Grade X

(World Literature)

I. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, 75% of the students are expected to :

A. create their own story using key words/phrases from the text
B. write possible outcomes of the story

II. Learning Content:

Subject Matter: Making Inferences
Reference: www.deped.gov.ph
Materials: Laptop, DLP and Handouts

III. Learning Experience:

A. Preparation
 Prayer
 Energizer
 Attendance
 Checking of Assignments
 Review

B. Motivation (Activity):
 There are series of pictures posted on the board, the students will
then give their predictions and give their inferences about that
series of pictures orally.

C. Presentation of the Topic (Analysis):

 These are some questions that the teacher will raise during the
discussion:
1. Have you tried predicting in some events of your lives?
2. Do you think making predictions or inferences helped you in
some other way? If yes, what are those ways?

D. Lesson Proper (Abstraction):

 The following are the steps for the teacher to present a thorough
discussion of the content:
1. She will discuss the importance of making inferences to her
students
2. The teacher will present the four terms: Ivan, marriage, seal skin
and locked trunk in the board (1st Handout)
 Then, she will tell the students to write a short chain story in
groups figuring the four terms given. Give them 5 minutes.
Then each group reads the story orally.
 The teacher will distribute copies of the text “Ivan and the
Seal Skin” to each students and let them read silently
 The students then will compare their own story to the
original text.

E. Generalization
 Highlighting key points by reviewing important matters.
 Answering student’s questions about the topic

F. Evaluation (Application):
 In a one half sheet of paper, the students will answer the following
questions:
1. Would it have been better if Ivan had not taken the seal skin?
Why or why? Or why not?
(You can create your own ending.)

IV. Homework:
Create a dual entry diary using the following format:

Reasons:
Striking/Puzzling Events What made me think of?
What made me feel?
