At the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

III. PROCEDURE:

A. REVIEW

 Recap the lesson “Read word with affixes”


 The teacher will ask the students about what they have learned from the
previous lesson.
 What is our lesson Yesterday?
 What have you learned from it?

B. MOTIVATION

 The teacher will read a short story that entitled “The Best of Friends” (by:
Jernilyn Grace F. Leopardas)
 Ater reading the short story, the teacher will ask some questions to the
students for them to answer.
- Who are the best friends?
- What do the girls do after school
- Where do they go after doing their homework?

C. PRESENTATION

 The teacher will present and discuss about the main elements of the story.
(Setting, Characters, Plot, Theme)
 The teacher will define the meaning of the short story.
 The teacher will enumerate and discuss the significant steps in writing stories
from beginning to end. (Think of an idea, create a character and a setting,
the beginning, the conflict, the turning point, the resolution, the end)

D. APPLICATION

 The teacher will ask students to think about their favorite experience in their
life.
 The teacher will present a presentation containing of 7 empty boxes. The seven boxes
containing of the steps of writing a short story (Think of an idea, create a character
and a setting, the beginning, the conflict, the turning point, the resolution, the end)
will be filled by the students according to what story they have made.
E. GENERALIZATION

 The teacher will ask the students on what they have learned from the lesson.
 The teacher will ask the students to read their own short stories in the class.
 The teacher will summarize all the elements and steps in writing a short story.
