TITLE OF MISSION INITIATIVE: _ EduKAHON; Kaalaman, Awitin, Hagikhik sa KahON
JEEPGY+ PILLAR: Engaged Citizenship Pillar

NARRATIVE

The EduKAHON; Kaalaman, Awitin, Hagikhik sa KahON is a project that aims to teach 6-11 years old
children about the lesson we can get from the stories of people in bible, the objective of this program is
to build moral character in them and to assists the youngster in forming strong connection with other
Christian children so they can grow spiritually together. This was the second project of our pillar
(Engaged Citizenship Pillar) had accomplish.

For this project to be properly executed, we need to gather the senior high school students from
different section of St. Jude Parish School Inc. to help us in teaching the children inside and outside of
the school community, our pillar’s announcement team was tasked to spread this information by going
through each room/section (both morning and afternoon shifts)and stating the mechanics of our project
last March 23 of 2023. To accomplish this project we need a funds so our pillar members helped to raise
money to be used in this project.

We also found other ways on gathering donations for our project with the used of our facebook page we
posted a post encouraging the other people to donate by sending their donations through Gcash. The
EduKAHON was originally planned to be execute on November 2022, but it was postponed on April
2023, therefore the engaged citizenship conduct a meeting via the Microsoft Teams application on
March 22,2023, at 8:00PM. During the meeting, Ms.Esther Kate Sandrino EC Executive Head, briefly
discussed that this project will be executed on April 1 to April 11, 2023, and with this meeting Esther
Kate Sandrino assigned the officer to facilitates on each group and it also discussed the mechanics of this
program and also assigned each facilitators to announced to their respective groups the flow and the
mechanics of this project.

On April 1, 2023 our pillar started the first episode of EduKAHON in barangay Inocencio, Southville
Phase 1, During the actual execution of the program Mrs. Lorilyn Mercado guided the volunteer students
and EC pillar, Ms. Mary Jane Ayag and Mr. Lester Villanueva the facilitators of the program, the event
started with the opening prayer led by Mr. Marlon Serrado Former EC head and followed by dance
number that led by Ms. Apple Serrado, Samirah Atacador and Mr. Jhasper Nuada grade 12 ABM 3 SHS
student volunteers, the kids was energized by the beat of the music. Then Mrs. Mary Jane Ayag EC
Assistant Executive Head, give an opening remarks and introduced the pillars name as well as the school
name and setting the context and the activities for the day, Then the SHS student volunteer Apple
Serrado narrated and act the God’s stories: Jesus Died on the Cross making it engaging and relatable to
the children, after the stories the student volunteers give the children an question and answer portion as
for activities, the children was actively participating to the activities by sharing their thought and ideas,
the atmosphere was so lively as the children was participating the question and answer portion, and in
the end of this program the children was given a snack for their actively participating on the program,
the first episode was successful executed by the EC pillar with the help of Mrs. Lorilyn Mercado and
Formed EC head Mr. Marlon Serrado.

On April 3, 2023, the engaged citizenship officer held another meeting via the Microsoft Teams
application at 7:37 PM. The presiding speaker, Esther Kate Sandrino briefly discussed the program flow
of the EduKAHON that will be conducted on Aguado It also dicussed their on where we going to prepare
the food that will be given to the children. On April 4, 2023 the second episode of EduKAHON was
executed at Southville 2 Phase 3 Covered Court, Barangay Aguado, Trece Martires City. the Engaged
Citizenship Pillar together with Mrs. Julie Ann Sulit and the students from the Grade 11 – STEM B
sections initiated the second day of EduKAHON Esther Kate Sandrino, the Engaged Citizenship Pillar
Executive Head, divided the officers according to their task; facilitating and cooking. She first prepared
the cooks and instructed them to have the 1pm call time for them to buy the ingredients together
before going to one of our advocate’s house where we will be cooking. Our advocate’s mother, Mrs.
Marlyn Poblete Montilla, volunteered to help us in cooking the soup for the children along with Hazel
Montilla, Venus Nueva, Jerson Pepino, Lester Villanueva, and Raymond Andrei Royol. While the other
officers, Esther Kate Sandrino and Shania Grace Gigantoca went to the school earlier before 2pm to
meet and fetch Mrs. Sulit and the students from grade 11 STEM B sections to Barangay Aguado. They
came along with the EduKAHON box, which contained our materials and snacks for the children. As soon
as they have arrived at Barangay Aguado with the permission of the Barangay Officials, the little teachers
shortly prepared and engaged kids to attend our program. The EduKAHON program in Barangay Aguado
started with the icebreaker games and dances led by Hairen Nicole Fermo and Sophia Nicole Luces. This
was then preceded by the lesson from the scripture in the Bible taught by the students from STEM 1B,
4B, and 5B; Gaile Diane Dizon, Cheska Punzalan and Sophia Nicole Luces. After teaching the children
about Job, Allysa Mores, student from 11 STEM 4B, started asking questions where they evaluate if the
kids had learned from the story. The facilitators offered chocolate wafers and couple of Jelly Ace as the
prizes for the recitation and participation of the kids. For the final part of the program, Nathalie Antalan
and Cheska Punzalan gave the reflection from the story of Job in the Bible. The cook then prepared the
soup and distributed it among the kids with the help of our little teachers. ‘’Thank you, teacher! Balik po
kayo ha’’ were the words touched our hearts as we waved our goodbyes on them. The second day of
EduKAHON fulfilled with the smiles of the children hoping we would come again and do fun and
enjoyable activities with them. This episode was successful with the help of Mrs. Julie Ann Sulit and the
students volunteer and also with the support of Mrs. Marlyn Poblete Montilla.

A few days later, On April 5, 2023, the third episode of EduKAHON took place at the Purok 4 Bry.
Lapidario (Bayog) Covered Court, and it was a great success. The Engaged Citizenship Pillar started by
gathering the children into the venue with the help of the grade 11 Humss 1-3B and grade 12 Stem B
representatives. The team began with an opening prayer led by Ms. Shaira Caguat. It was a solemn
moment that set the tone for the day's activities. The children who had gathered for the program were
visibly excited and enthusiastic about what was in store for them. After the opening prayer, the team
showcased a dance number, "Every Move I Take," choreographed by Kimberly Pugong. The kids were
immediately energized by the upbeat music and the coordinated moves of the dance. It was evident that
the children enjoyed the performance as they clapped and cheered after the dance.

Venus Nueva, an SHS Advocate gave the opening remarks, setting the context for the day's activities. The
children were then treated to a story lesson by Shaira Caguat, Cathy Aquino, and Cheska Arcenan who
are the grade 11 Humss 1-3B representatives. They narrated and acted out one of the most famous Bible
story called “The Noah’s Ark”, making them engaging and relatable to the children. After the story lesson,
the kids were given an activity, coloring the Bible characters they learned about earlier. The children were
actively engaged in the activity, chatting and sharing their thoughts and ideas with each other as they
colored their worksheets. The colors they used were bright and vibrant, and it was visible that they were
putting in their best efforts. It was a joy to see how enthusiastic and creative they were.

The atmosphere was lively as the children participated in a recitation session. Those who knew the
answers were rewarded with biscuits and candies, adding to the excitement of the moment. As the
children enjoyed their treats, they continued to share their reflections, and the room was filled with the
sound of their excited voices. It was a heartwarming sight to a day full of new experiences and
discoveries.Towards the end of the program, the children were treated to some snacks and refreshments.
The food distribution was a welcome respite for the children who were actively participating in the
program throughout the day. After the snacks, the Engaged Citizenship Pillar along with the
representatives took some pictures with the children, who were happy and beaming with excitement.

The third episode of the Edukahon project executed by the Engaged Citizenship Pillar was a resounding
success. The children were active and happy throughout the day, eager to learn and participate in all the
activities. It was evident that they enjoyed the experience and were grateful for the opportunity to learn
about the Bible stories. The success of the event could not have been possible without the teamwork of
the Engaged Citizenship Pillar, grade 11 Humss 1-3B, and grade 12 StemB representatives. The program's
impact on the children's lives and the community was felt, and it was a fulfilling experience for everyone
involve.

With this project held, they felt that it reached not only the hearts and minds of the children. It gives
them deeper knowledge about the word of God, they left the children feeling motivated to make a
difference in the community. This program also gave the children the opportunity to learn, ask
questions, have fun, on learning the word of God.

The Engaged Citizenship Pillar Heads agree to continue, EduKAHON; Kaalaman, Awitan, Hagikhik sa
kahON for the school year 2023-2024. The engaged citizenship head plans to make it not only with just
one or two weeks program but all through the entire academic year, we would also like to raise more
funds to use for this project and we would like to return to the barangays that we visit this year since
there are many kids expecting us to return in order to educate them about the word of God. Future
EduKAHON also wants to engaged more students of St. Jude Parish Schoolto participate with this project
to engaged more youngster in different barangays. We intend to provide more educational and practical
information on the topics. For the future episode, we anticipate new topics. We are also planning to
instill in them the value of knowing God and how to connect with God.
