NC-II : LEADERSHIP SKILLS AMONG POLICE PERSONNEL SEMINAR


Narrative Report

Last 26th of May 2023, the Bachelor of Science in Criminology Students


conducted a seminar as a course requirement in NC-II TESDA-Security Services Community
Extension with the theme, “Building a Strong Foundation: Leadership Skills and Development
for Personal and Professional Growth”. The Leadership Skills among Police Personnel Seminar,
held on May 26, 2023 from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at GADTC 3 rd Floor Activity Lounge, aimed
to enhance participants' professional skills and promote personal development. The event
brought together individuals from diverse backgrounds, all eager to acquire new knowledge and
refine their existing leadership skills. The said seminar is also designed to develop essential skills
that can help individuals achieve success, satisfaction and fulfillment in their personal and
professional lives.
The seminar began with an engaging opening ceremony, where the moderators welcomed
the participants and introduced the event's resource speakers. The moderators commenced with
an introduction of the esteemed guest speakers for the day. PMAJ. Alvin C. Tamayo and Pat.
Chona Saberon-Naquila were the speaker for the said seminar. The moderators highlighted the
speaker's accomplishments, expertise, and contributions to their respective fields. The
anticipation among the participants grew as they eagerly awaited the guest speaker's
presentation.
The guest speakers then took the stage and delivered a captivating speech in line with the
seminar’s theme “Building a Strong Foundation: Leadership Skills and Development for
Personal and Professional Growth”. that left a lasting impression on the attendees. The speech
was thoughtfully structured and covered a wide range of relevant topics, tailored to the seminar's
theme.
Both speakers also shared personal anecdotes, professional experiences, and practical
advice, making the session engaging and relatable. They demonstrated a deep understanding of
the subject matter, providing valuable insights and actionable strategies for leadership skills
development and personal and professional growth.
Towards the end of the guest speaker's session, they delivered an inspirational message
and stories that resonated with the audience. They encouraged participants to embrace
challenges, take calculated risks, and continuously seek opportunities for growth. The speaker
also emphasizes the importance of trusting God in achieving personal and professional success.
They acknowledged that while acquiring knowledge, skills and taking practical steps are
essential, it is equally important to have faith and trust in a higher power.
At the end of the seminar, a closing ceremony was held to acknowledge the efforts of the
participants and express gratitude to the guest speakers, facilitators, and different committees.
Certificates of participation were awarded to all attendees, recognizing their active engagement
and commitment to self-improvement.
The Leadership Skills among Police Personnel was a resounding success, providing
participants with a platform to enhance their skills, gain new perspectives, and build valuable
connections with the speakers. The event not only equipped attendees with practical knowledge
but also inspired them to embrace lifelong learning and continuously strive for personal and
professional development. The lessons learned and the information established during the
seminar will undoubtedly contribute to the participants' future success and growth in their future
respective fields.
