1. P
URPOSE

The purpose of the present document is to describe the standard process, requirements, QA/AC controls,
Risk assessment and HSE controls for electrical installation of string inverter for the Sakaka project.

2. BASIC HSE WARNINGS

- No work shall be performed without the usage of proper PPEs on the site.
- Forklift/Cranes to have valid certificates for(a)Eqpt fitness (b)TPI (C)operation &
- (d) load test certificates- this to be verified by HSE Sup.
- Forklift/Crane driver to have valid driver licence-this to be verified by HSE Sup
- HSE Sup to check that the Driver is in proper Health condition and fit for operating the Equipment.
- Before starting operation of Eqpt, the HSE Sup shall give a Tool Box Talk to the Operator/Driver
on HSE aspects.
- Before lifting loads, driver to ensure that forklift is on reasonably level ground.
- Care shall be taken to ensure that there is no thoroughfare around the turning radius of the hydraulic crane.
- Slings with load test certificates to be verified by Site HSE supervisor for lifting loads before
slings are put in use.
- Slings of appropriate load carrying capacity as per design shall be used for lifting and erection of modules
- It shall be ensured that the safety latch in the crane hook is in position before proceeding for any

5. REQUIREMENTS

5.1. EQUIPMENT

- Torque wrench
- Wire stripper
- Utility knife
- Cable cutter
- Heat shrink tubing
- Heat gun
- Crimping tool

- PROCEDURE

- Work area must be cleared for safe access.

- The ground point on the enclosure is preferred to connect to the PE cable for the String inverter.
- The team for installation needs to be working in pair.

For DC cable:
- Prepare the positive and negative connectors.
- Tighten the locking nuts on the positive and negative connectors
- Insert the positive and negative connectors into the corresponding positive and negative DC glands
For AC cable
- Route the AC cable through the cable gland.
- Input terminals of the inverter until they snap into place.
- Remove an appropriate length of the jacket and insulation layer from the AC output power cable
using a wire stripper.
- Put heat shrink around the cables and fix heat shrink with heat gun.
- Crimp an OT terminal
- Land the AC output power cable in the terminal block, and tighten the nuts with a torque wrench
that has an extension rod.
- Tighten the cable glands

1. HIRA AND RISK CONTROL MEASURES

String Inverter Installation & Cable Termination

HIRA
*Risk management criterion: These must be applied in sequential order for proper “risk
processing”.

a. Eliminate the hazard/risk.

b. Control the hazard/risk at source using engineering controls or organizational
measures.
c. Minimize the hazard/risk by the design of safe work systems, which include
administrative control measures.
d. Where residual hazards/risks cannot be controlled by collective measures, previsions
shall be taken for appropriate personal protective equipment, including clothing, and
other resources (e.g.: training).
