1. If you had to decide this case for the EEOC, how would you settle the charge?
What is the basis for your decision?

- If I were the Human Resource Manager in Vision Electronics I would allow her
to wear her scarf so that she will be able to comply her religious beliefs as
long as she will wear it every day. The basis of my decision is under the
Employment discrimination act, if Human Resource Manager doesn’t follow
the religious beliefs of a certain employee this will lead into violations of
employment discrimination act so as an HR we must accommodate or
respect the religious beliefs of all our employee and allow their request like
wearing a scarf while working in order to avoid this employment discrimination
act.

2. Should Vision Electronics be required to accommodate Nadia’s requests?


Explain.

- Yes, Vision electronics should accommodate Nadia’s request because she is


a Muslim people, as we all know all religious Muslim Girls are required to
wear their Hijab at all times in order for them to cover their hair because their
hair is the most precious part of their body and it is one of the requirements of
their religious beliefs as a Muslim people and we should respect that.

3. Does the fact that Nadia wears a scarf only occasionally affect your decision?
Explain?

- No, it doesn’t affect my decision it is up to her whether she only wears her
scarf occasionally or she would or wouldn’t wear her scarf or hijab at all times
as long as I allowed her to wear it and respected her religious beliefs which is
to cover her hair with scarf or hijab while working. By doing so I won’t violate
employment discrimination act.

4. Should management be allowed to ask Nadia when she must keep her head
covered and what is permissible headwear? Explain.

- They have right to ask Nadia when she must keep her head covered because
this is what she was fighting for which is to allowed her to wear a scarf just to
comply with her religious beliefs and because management grant her request
then she is expected to wear it not occasionally but instead all the time.
