2 SAFETY AND MAINTENANCE TARGETS

This chapter describes topics that you must follow with this product and in your daily work.

2.1 Safety

Refer to AS-01.03.101 for general safety precaution and personal safety issues.

2.1.1 Maintenance method safety

Note the following safety items:

– General KONE safety regulations must be followed during the work. All normal safety
measures required in elevator maintenance must be implemented. Local safety
regulations must also be followed.
– Refer to AM-01.03.002 Take 5 - Electrical safety when working on elevators, escalators
and autowalks. The Take 5 safety initiative is designed for installation, servicing,
maintenance and modernization work done on the elevators.
– Consider the end user safety. If necessary take the equipment out of use and ensure that
no one is using it. After maintenance visit ensure the elevator is left in safe state. See
section 1.5 Related documents for detailed instructions.

NOTE: This document applies to several elevator configurations using KCE. Read all
safety instructions of the elevator you are working with to ensure safety. If you have any
doubts of the correct working method, ask your supervisor.

NOTE: Use KMI very carefully when moving or configuring the elevator.

2.2 Environmental issues

Hazardous waste material must be taken care of according to the local regulations and KONE
Environment Strategy.

customers’ expectations, be polite, constructive and co-operative, and communicate clearly.
Remember that for customers, you represent KONE, so ensure that you handle or at least
communicate all customer requests and feedback to the correct persons.
For more information on how to deliver best-in-class customer experiences through behavior
and communication, see the KONE Ambassador program in KONE intranet (search for
Ambassador) or contact your supervisor.

10 PAIRING KCE CIRCUIT BOARDS

If replaced, KCE circuit boards (KCEMSC, KCECCG, KCEDZS and KCECPU) having
elevator software version 11.0 or newer must be paired. If the boards have not been paired,
only inspection or RDF drive is possible.

NOTE: Compare the board serial numbers to the numbers given in EC Declaration of
Conformity for Safety Components 50312371Dxx (xx>=04). 50312371Dxx is a part of
elevator delivery documentation.

1. Select KMI menu 5-5 and check the unpaired node count.
