1. What curricular issue/s did I encounter today?

- We had our staff / admin meeting with our School Head today, and one of the issues that was
brought up was how to properly assess and/or give grades to our learners. Our attention was
called due to the sheer size of enrollment in our school (19,000+). One of the reasons was
that our teaches did not fail a single student last school year 2020-2021 because of
“compassion” to the learners. The effect of this decision was that rumors spread that our
school do not fail students, and thus many students were encouraged to enroll.

2. How did I address the issue/s?

- Together with the academic department heads, we are currently planning a retooling on how
to properly assess and/or give grades to our learners

3. What did I do right?

- I brought this issue to the attention of our School Head and Department Heads. They reacted
that it was a negative impression that they can easily pass in our school.

4. What did I do that was not effective?

- N/A

5. How will I improve?

- I plan to present a curricular development proposal to address this issue

6. Did I implement the planned improvements?

- We are still on planning stage of curricular development / retooling our teachers
