Results: The Mean score in motivation of the 110 samples is 3.65 and the Standard Deviation is 0.81,
while the Mean score boredom is 3.74 and Standard Deviation is 0.86 . The correlation analysis shows
that the Pearson Correlation coefficient* between motivation and boredom is r(computed) = 0.01145 ,
and the r(tabulated) is 0.1946 (based on the table below TABLE B.7. Critical Values for Pearson’s
Correlation Coefficient the Degree of freedom or df is 110 – 2 =108, the nearest to 108 is 100, look n =
100 then = 0.05 the intersection of the two is r (tabular) = 0.1946). The correlation coefficient is almost
zero, a very week correlation coefficient. Since the r(computed) is less than the r(tabular) or r(com) =
0.01145 < r(tab) = 0.1946, we retain the null hypothesis stating that there is no significant relationship
between motivation and boredom. To determine whether the scores in Motivation are related to
boredom, correlation using Pearson r was computed. Results show that motivation is not related to
boredom. It indicates that differences in motivation scores are not related to differences in boredom
score.

also shows the significant negative relationship between English and Science is ne (r = -0.21567)
indicating that students who scored high in Math scored low in Science. Likewise, test boredom is
negatively related to Science (r = -0.30336) indicating that students who reported higher boredom
