Actividades Read the following information about future perfect and future continuous. Take
notes about it on your notebook and discuss the topic with your teacher.

Future perfect
The future perfect expresses the idea that something will occur before another action in the
future. It can also show that something will happen before a specific time in the future.
For example:
- The train will leave the station at 9. You will arrive at the station at 9:15. When you
arrive, the train will have left. Therefore:
The train will have left when you arrive.

Some more examples:

- You can call me at work at 8am. I will have arrived at the office by 8.
- They will be tired when they arrive. They will not have slept for a long time.
- Will she have learned enough French to communicate before she moves to Paris?

Structure
The structure of the future perfect tense is:
Subject + Will + Have + Main verb (past participle)
Subject Auxiliary Auxiliary Main verb
verb verb (past
participle)
+ I will have finished by 10am.
- She will not have Gone: go to school.
? Will you have arrived?

( will not: won´t) she won´t have gone to school

Future continuous
We mainly use the Future Continuous to indicate that we will be in the middle of doing
something in a specified time in the future. Other uses are:

Use 1: Future action in progress

We can use the future continuous to express a future action in progress ( I will be, you will
be, he will be, she will be
Examples: In an hour, I will be watching TV at home.
In the evening, I will be cooking my lunch for tomorrow.

Use 2: guesses
We can also use this tense to make guesses about something in the present or future.
Examples: Laura won’t be coming anytime soon. She’s still at the office.
Pedro will be getting married very soon.
Form
Affirmative: Subject + will be + verb+ing (I will be waiting for you at the bus stop)
Negative: Subject + will + not +be verb+ing (I will not be waiting / I won’t be waiting)
Won’t be
Question: Will + subject + be + verb+ing (Will you be waiting for me at the bus stop?)

Future Continuous with "Be Going To "

[am/is/are + going to be + present participle]
Examples:
 You are going to be waiting for her when her plane arrives tonight.
 Are you going to be waiting for her when her plane arrives tonight?
 You are not going to be waiting for her when her plane arrives tonight.
REMEMBER: It is possible to use either "will" or "be going to" to create the Future
Continuous with little difference in meaning.
