FUTURE PERFECT

GRAMMAR ENCOUNTER 25C


The future perfect tense is used to speak about and activity we
know (because for us it’s a sure action) it will happen or that we
imagine it will happen before a future moment or another future
activity.

E.g.
-I will have learned my new student’s names before the class ends.
-Marc will have done the task by midday.
-I won’t have eaten lunch by the time Sarah picks me up.
Common expressions
By the time
By Monday/next year
By now/then
Before
When
Now, it’s time to see the differences among simple future, future
progressive and future perfect.
Situation
-Thomas will do a test at 4 o’clock.
A friend of yours
(the activity begins at the time given)
is going to do an
exam at 4 o’clock
