(PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT ACTIVITIES)
KINDER-RED

In a midst of Covid -19 nothing can stop the learning of every child, as a teacher we should prove a better
learning to our pupils so that No one is left Behind. Per DepEd Order (DO) No. 34, s. 2022 titled School Calendar and
Activities for the School Year 2022-2023, psychosocial support activities must be conducted during the first week of
School Year (SY) 2022-2023, beginning on August 22, 2022. The learners' socio-emotional well-being must be
promoted, safeguarded, and prioritized as they return to face-to-face instruction. Classroom advisers or other
designated teachers will lead these activities.
Psychosocial is relating to the combination of psychological and social behavior.
Psychosocial support addresses a person’s emotional, social, mental and spiritual needs – all essential
elements of positive human development.
Psychosocial support also helps build resilience in children. For their psychological and emotional health as
well as their physical and intellectual development, all children require psychosocial care. If a child has endured
tremendous trauma or adversity or is not getting the required caregiver support, The psychosocial support activities
are imperative in promoting, protecting, and prioritizing the learners’ socio-emotional well-being as they transition
back to in-person classes. These activities will be facilitated by classroom advisers or designated teachers.

These psychosocial support activities can develop self-awareness, self-expression and self-understanding.
It also foster self-awareness, experience stress release and a sense of self-efficacy in problem solving, appreciation for
the self, cultivate self-compassion and self-confidence among learners. It is essential for maintaining good physical and
mental health and provides an important coping mechanism for people during difficult times.
