VII. SUMMARY AND Grade Three- Narra took a special approach to

HIGHLIGHTS OF Catch-Up Friday in alignment with the guidelines set

by the Depaertment of Education through
Memorandum No. 001,s.2024. Embracing the spirit
of the directives, we dedicated the entire day to
reading as DEAR ( Drop Everything and Read) was
implemented.
On the first Friday of reading program, the

teacher supervised the uninterrupted silent reading.
The pupils were given the freedom to choose their
own book or story for the silent reading.
During the implementation of DEAR, the
teacher assisted the struggling readers while the
proficient readers who read independently assited
their other classmates in reading.

match the reading levels of the pupils.

Fun games and exciting reading activities were
provided and assigned to learners to cater their
learning needs in engaging and enjoyable ways.
There are basic sight words for struggling
learners, sentences and short stories for others who
can already read.
Different materials like flashcards, charts, huge
dice , colorful reading packs and others were
provided to make the learning experience a
memorable one.

VIII. PROBLEM/S At first there are difficulties in the implementatin of the
ENCOUNTERED program because of lack of information and lack of materials.
