As stipulated on Division Memorandum No. 444, s. 2023, the Department of education Division
of Nueva Ecija conducted the Capacity Building on Teaching Beginning Reading for Key Stage 1 Teachers
last January 13, 20, and 27, 2024 at Luzviminda’s Event Center, Gen. Tinio Ext. Vergara Road, Cabanatuan
City.
The objective of the said training are the following:
a)Upskill the Key Stage 1 teachers’ capacity to use a knowledge-based pedagogy to become
effective reading planners/teachers:
b) Apply developmentally appropriate strategies following the Science of Reading in teaching
the elements of reading among K to 3 learners:
c) Deepen their conceptual understanding of content using key strategies in teaching; and
d) Promote/sustain a culture of reading in schools and commitment to mentoring/sharing of
teaching experiences to improve instruction and outcome.
The participants from the different districts of Nueva Ecija were oriented regarding the 3 day
training and the participants were divided into 2 classes.
Each group per class submitted and presented their outputs in each topic discussed by the
speakers.
