ACTIVITY DESIGN

I. Title: CLASS DEMONSTRATION ON LAC SESSION

II. Rationale:

A Master Teacher is someone who is considered an “Instructional Leader”. He/ She is tasked to
perform duties and responsibilities as mandated by the Department of Education. One of which is to
provide technical assistance to his/her fellow teachers especially the newly hired He/ She is expected to
be a model of practices that are innovative and research-based especially in the application of content
knowledge and pedagogy.
A class demonstration of a Master Teacher is necessary to be conducted in a LAC session in
order to model and show the application of teaching strategies and techniques for the professional
development of colleagues.

III. Objectives:

1. To model effective applications of content within and across curriculum


2. To model and support colleagues in proficient use of Mother Tongue,
Filipino and English
3. To display a wide range of effective verbal and non-verbal classroom
communication strategies
4. To exhibit effective strategies that effectively motivate learners to
work productively

FOCUS GROUP DISCUSSION


I. Objective:
To model and discuss with colleagues effective strategies that reflect
modifications in teaching practices to sustain learner motivation in monitoring and evaluating
their own learning.

The session started with with a prayer led by Mr. Reinan O. Lucas and followed by a
warm-up through a zumba dance. Then, ground rules was set by the participants for everyone to
follow during the discussion.

Brainstorming about the different strategies of teaching was discussed first by the group.
Everyone shared their ideas and likewise listened to the ideas of others. I introduced the 5E’s
strategy and its parts: The Engagement Stage, The Exploration Stage, The Explanation Stage,
The Elaboration Stage & the last stage is The Evaluation. They listened attentively and very
eager to try this kind of teaching strategy. Everyone shared their ideas and likewise listened to
others.
Open forum followed. Everyone is welcome to ask anything about the topic. All queries
were answered and everyone shared their ideas and opinions to the group.
The session successfully ended with a commitment from the participants to try the new
strategy they have learned in their teaching.

2. To show effective practices to foster learning environments that promote fairness,
respect, and care to encourage learning.
3. To design, adapt and implement teaching strategies that are responsive to learners
with disabilities, giftedness and talents.
4. To develop and apply teaching strategies to address effectively the needs of l
learners form Indigenous groups.
