The Digital Rise Program of DepEd aims to encourage and enhance the Innovation and
Digitization Initiative, which will support the requirements of the K-12 Curriculum to provide
quality, usable, meaningful and liberating education for all. As the nation continues to face the
multiple challenges of the 2019 Coronavirus Disease Pandemic, through its BE-LCP under
DepEd Order No. 012, s., DepEd addresses the challenges of basic education for the 2020-2021
academic year. In 2020, the BE-LCP seeks to ensure the health, safety and well-being of
learners, teachers and staff, while at the same time seeking ways of continuing education in the
midst of the crisis.
In the Aide Memoire dated 27 May 2020 by Alain Del B. Pascua, 'Accelerating the
DepEd Computerization Program in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic,' it is stated that the
Department of Education's mandate is to ensure access to and provide basic education for all
learners at all times. For this reason, DepEd-in the context of the COVID 19 pandemic and given
the quarantine situation-continues to explore, develop and enhance online learning and teaching
measures.
The workshop ultimately aimed to provide teachers with the necessary knowledge and
skills and to ensure that learning continues in the face of the difficulties the education sector is
currently facing. This activity enables teachers to accept the new innovation to feel cared for and
loved in the physical absence of their teachers today. Teachers require unique opportunities for
professional growth to improve their ability to use ICT for formative assessments, individualized
teaching, and access to online services and to encourage student interaction and cooperation.
Such ICT training should have a positive impact on the general attitudes of teachers to ICT in the
classroom but should also provide specific guidance on the teaching and learning of ICTs in each
field. Teachers had to switch to online teaching by using various digital tools and resources to
