NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT (PSS)


ACTIVITIES FOR GRADE III LEARNERS

After prolonged stay at homes, the Grade III learners were also treated
with a welcome ambience and learning environment that the teacher-adviser
prepared for the continuity of learning and the preparation of full in-person
implementation this school year 2022-2023, a joint force support of the
Department of Education through the Disaster Risk Reduction Management
(DRRM) in form of play or art -based games integrated in the lessons during
the first days of the first week in class.
Learners known to have a need for psycho-social stability and socio-
emotional preparedness to be adjusted to the school setting that they were
not able to experience for the past two years. Although they are given the
chance to be in school, learn face-to-face and interact with their classmates,
it is a mandated that they still abide by the health and safety protocols ,
because the risk posed by the virus is still present and the teachers, school
head knew the importance of dealing with the learners’ fears, uncomfortable
feelings, sadness of being departed at home to study, and assurance that
they are still safe outside their homes.
Divided in three packets, PSS activities gave the learners an
atmosphere through the facilitation of their teachers that develop their
sense of showing what they are, what they can, and what they have as
individuals. The daily activities focused on knowing their self-worth, their
self-expression in solving problems, the self-regulation, knowing how to be
compassion and ability to manage their self-health while gong back to
studies.
On the first day, the learners express themselves on their excitement
to see old mates and gain new friends. They tried to regain their eagerness

in the class while watching videos, playing games and doing artworks to
express their “balik eskwela” feelings.
The psychosocial support activities are partners of the parents and the
teachers to bring the good old days of face-to-face learning.
