Narrative Report

As we all strive every day to make a living in this world, we find ourselves more
tired with little time left to spend with our beloved family. At Bagong Silang
Elementary School, we believe it’s important to make a pause in life and spend time
with family, especially our children. We often work so hard every day in order to
provide for ourselves and families that sometimes we give up one of the most
important things we could provide to our families, time.

Family Day reminds us all to focus our thoughts, energies and time to those
closest to us — the members of our own families. Throughout our busy lives filled with
learning, teaching and working, it is easy to allow ourselves to lose sight of what
should always be most important — our children, parents, and other loved ones.
Celebrating family day in school is a great way to bond for parents, children and their
teachers. This event gives us an opportunity to reconnect: re-energize, refocus and
share some quality time together.

Last September 29, 2023, the Grade–4 Poseidon leaerners with their parents
and teachers celebrated the Family Day at Bagong Silang Elementary School. This
event aimed to gather the learners, their families and teachers in order to interact and
get to know each other. Mrs. Arlene Yuzon along with the HRPTA Offciers took charge
of the events and the food.

The simple celebration at exactly 8:30 in the morning in line with Presidential
Proclamation No. 326, series of 2012 which is the “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day”
The observance, which encourages Filipinos to spend mealtime with their families, is
held every fourth Monday of September every year in conjunction with the annual
celebration of National Family Week.

Mr. Ariel D. Punzalan, class adviser prepare few parlor games to add excitement
to the event. Afterwards the prepared food by our dear parents was shared by
everybody. Mr. Punzalan expressed his appreciation to all the parents and learners
who made the event very successful. Parents, pupils and teachers got the chance to
bond and eat their lunch together. Everyone was full and satisfied after the event.
