SECOND QUARTER NATIONAL SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL

NARRATIVE REPORT

Bagong Silang Elementary School held its Second Quarter National Erathquake Drill on June 09,

2022 with the observance of the health protocol. The said drill was mandated by the Dperatment of Education

pursuant to the NDRRMC Memorandum No. 21 s. 2022 titled Conduct of the CY 2022 Quarterly Nationwide

Simultaneous Earthquake Drill,’ the Office of the Undersecretary for Administration (OUA), through the

Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Service (DRRMS), enjoins schools and offices across all levels of the

Department of Education (DepEd) to participate in the 2022 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake

Drill (NSED) on Thursday, June 09, 2022, 9:00 AM.

Prior to the event, a short meeting was conducted together with our School Head and over all In-

Charge Safety Officer, Mrs. Maria Jovita B. Singzon with regards on the conduct and preparation for the drill

following the health protocols. A simple orientation was also held through chats and text messages and a video

was also send to be watched by the pupils.

On the day of the drill, the link of the National Pressing of Button by the Office of Civil Defense

was shared to every school personnel, teaching and no-teaching and they forwarded it to their respective group

chat so that learners along with their parents and other members of their family and community can watch

through facebook live. With the signal coming from ceremony thru facebook live at exaclty 9:00 am, I, as the

SDRRM Coordinator together with Ma’am Lyra Ocampo as the Asst. Coordinator lead the pressing of the

button here in our school as a sign of the drill. Teachers, school personnel and learners in the face to face setting

and at home do the duck, cover and hold with proper documentation.

The said drill was succesfully done through the help and cooperation of the teachers, school

personnel and learners with the guidance of their parents.
