BES Virtual Teachers’ Day Celebration

October 5, 2021, We celebrate the National Teachers' Day as UNESCO have designated
October 5 of every year as National Teachers’ Day (NTD) and World Teachers’ Day (WTD) in
commemoration & recognition of the importance of teachers and their hard work.
Although the teachers couldn’t conduct a face-to-face celebration due to strict
restrictions, the Balanga Elementary School celebrates Teachers’ Day virtually for the second
time. A lot of pupils, parents, and other stakeholders want to show their appreciation to their
teachers on this day so with the initiation of the GPTA Officers, SPG Officers, and Faculty
Officers, SDO Balanga, they were able to provide simple gifts and tokens of appreciation for the
teachers on this day. To avoid mass gathering, each grade level was scheduled to get their gifts
from the COBNHS in the morning. Everyone was really grateful for these token of appreciation
like T-Shirt from Mr. Christopher Dizon, the GPTA President, food, mugs, and school supplies
from the different sponsors.
As a treat to teachers, the Faculty Officers and Officer of the month prepared a simple
virtual celebration which is filled with surprises, games and raffle so teachers can enjoy on this
day via Google Meet at 3:00 pm.
With Mrs. Auggie Santiago as emcee for the day, she started the program by greeting
everybody and acknowledging the special guests that will give special messages to the teachers.
The program started with a prayer via AVP, then the Roll Call followed. Each grade level was
asked to think of one word that describes them as teachers. After checking if everyone is already
in the platform, A welcoming remarks was given by the OIC-Principal, our OIC-Assistant
Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Ilynne S. Samonte. She greeted everyone a Happy
Teachers’ Day and shared an inspiring stories of teachers who were put in a very difficult and
struggling situation, but still their passion for teaching and eagerness to teach is high. She relates
that to the situation of the teachers in our school. Even though the teachers are put in a difficult
situation, they are still passionate to teach.
After Dr. Ilynne Samonte, As our new Area Supervisor, Dr. Ellen Macaraeg, the
Education Program Supervisor in Kindergarten, also gave a Message to the teachers of BES and
greet them a Happy Teachers’ Day. The teachers then welcome her in the school and tell her a
happy teachers’ day too.

The teachers of Balanga Elementary School were all very lucky as they were given a
Video Message by Balanga City Councilor, Mrs. Christian Manalaysay a Happy Teachers’ Day
and some words to thank the teachers and give appreciation.
Also, in the platform, the Vice Mayor of Balanga City, Hon. Vianca Gozon was able to
join the Teachers’ Day Celebration of Balanga Elementary School. She thanked all the teachers
for their hardwork, and can really empathize with how really hard it is to be a teacher and teach a

lot of pupils as she experiences it with his son. What more if the teachers teach a lot of pupils.
She thanked the teachers for their service as going to schools in the distribution of modules can
be very risky for their health so she salutes all the teachers. Lastly, Ma’am Tara Ann
Pagdanganan who is in charge of the Education Sector in the city, also thanked the teachers for
their dedication and hard work, and can also relate how challenging being a teacher is as by
profession, she is also one and truly she is very grateful for the teachers as they are the partner
of the city in imparting knowledge and good education to the pupils with the parents and
reminded everyone to always keep safe.
With the special messages that the teachers heard, their hearts are truly overfilled with
joy. For the second part of the program, in order for the teachers to be able to showcase their
talents, prior to this event, each grade level was asked to choose one teacher to showcase their
talents or make a fun TikTok Video. This is for the TikTok Talent Show. The winners will be
determined by voting via Google Form. The presentation of the TikTok Videos followed.
After the Contest, while the teachers Vote, the Officer of the month prepared fun Virtual
games which the teachers can win prizes. The games played were Name that Tune, Bring Me,
and Quiz Bee. The laughter and joy overfilled the platform as teachers truly enjoyed the games.
After the games, the raffle for the prizes prepared by the Faculty President followed. The
winners for the raffle were determined using the Wheelofnames.
As the program ended, the TikTok winners were announced and based from the votes,
Ma’am Marife Dinglasan won the 1 st place, Ma’am Veronica Jaraba won the 2 nd Place, and for
the 3rd place, both Ma’am Zyra Paguio and Sir Bengen Ramirez won.
The Faculty President, Ms. Evelyn Gaita ended the program with her closing remarks and
thanked everyone in celebrating the teachers’ day together even virtually.
