The Local Government Unit of Doña Remedios Trinidad Bulacan offers
their support to every family by distributing 10 kilos of rice every month to each
learner enrolled in all the schools of DRT.
The monthly distribution of rice for every learner is a good way of
supporting and reaching out for families. This will help lessen the burden of the
family in worrying for food to put in their table, that is sometime the cause of
students’ absences in the school. As for them, instead of going to school with
empty stomach the student will go and look for food or else be at home to look
for their siblings or their houses while the parents are gone looking for it. This
was a real scenario the local government is aware about, that is why they came
up with this brilliant solution.
Sapang Bulac Elementary School with more than four hundred learners
enrolled were lucky indeed for being part of this program. Most especially
during this time of pandemic, wherein every kilos of rice is very helpful in most
of the families here in Sapang Bulac. The idea was great because they didn’t just
help feed the families but most importantly they help avoid students’ absence
and reduce the drop-out of students in the school.
