The Buenavista National High School through the Supreme Student
Government conducted week-long activities for the National Students’ Day
2021 celebration with the theme: “Maka-Diyos at Maka-Kalikasan” on
November 22-29, 2021, which was participated by the students. The
activities were done pursuant to OUA 00-1121-0025 titled, Virtual
Celebration of National Students’ Day 2021.
The activities kick-started with student’s involvement in the Religious

Verse sharing through Facebook posts. It was led by their respective
advisers to which the learners followed. On November 22, 2021, contests
such as tinig ng panalangin, awit para sa kalikasan, home gardening, plant
vlog, and recycled DIY crafts was officially opened so the students will start
making their entries until the climax and closing program for the activities
which will include the announcement of winners on November 29, 2021.
The recommended activities are approaches to support students’

holistic development not only in the academic part of their study but as well
as their extra co-curricular activities. It was designed to enable students to
do an active part in nation building and people empowerment by doing
activities aligned with the core values of DepEd namely, “Maka-Diyos,
Makatao, Maka-kalikasan, at Makabansa.”
With the school Supreme Student Government as the front

implementer, the activities will help learners not only to focus on their
academic performance but also to take care of their physical, emotional,
mental, environmental, and spiritual health.

“Gurong Filipino: Katuwang sa Hamon, Kasama sa Pagbangon,” was
the theme chosen by the Department of Education for the celebration of the
World Teacher’s Day 2021. It focused on the recognition of teacher’s effort in
carrying out their duties as education frontliners amid the Covid-19
Pandemic especially for the educators throughout our nation.
In this commemoration, the Buenavista National High School through

Supreme Student Government, expressed their appreciation and gratitude
to all the teaching as well as the non-teaching personnel of the school by
making a short video showing what partakes inside and outside the school
where the teachers exercise their rights and responsibilities, and standards
for their initial preparation, and teaching and learning conditions of
everyone involved in the educational process. The Supreme Student
Government also made poster for each school personnel with greetings
written on it.
The appreciation posts served as proxy to the usual activities done

prior to the Covid-19 pandemic in which series of activities were conducted
in the world teacher’s day celebration each year. For this year, however, to
limit the exposure of everyone to the viruses, virtual activities and programs
were encouraged instead of the usual face-to-face or in-person happenings.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council chose
the theme: “Tamang Pamamahala't Kahandaan, Kaalaman at Pagtutulungan
sa Sakuna at Pandemya'y Kalasag ng Bayan” for the year-round observance
of the resiliency of the Filipinos during disasters. The theme emphasizes on
the important role of disaster risk governance in all sectors of government
and non-government organizations with the collaboration of all Filipinos to
overcome the challenges brought by the pandemic and build a more resilient
and greener environment in the new normal.
In this regard, the Buenavista National High School through the

Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Team together with the officers of
Supreme Student Government, quarterly conducts and joins the nation-wide
simultaneous earthquake drill. The observance emphasizes on the
importance of DRRM and the need to understand disaster risks, enhancing
individual and community disaster preparedness, increasing DRR advocacy
programs, developing preparedness and awareness for effective response,
recovery, rehabilitation, and reconstruction.
The quarterly activity shows how the school faculty and staff are
prepared and serves as the model to the learners and to the stakeholders on
what to do before, during, and after any disaster. “Ligtas ang may alam” at
siguraduhing “I am ready” are very important reminders in these times of
uncertainties where disaster strikes in the least that we expect it.

The Buenavista National High School through the Wash-In-School
Program Coordinator and members in collaboration with the Supreme
Student Government officers as well as the Barkada Kontra Droga BNHS
Chapter conducted a synchronized hand-washing activity in yearly
observance of the Global Hand Washing Day on every 15th of October.
The activity is a global advocacy dedicated to increasing awareness

and understanding about the importance of hand washing with soap as an
effective and affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives. It is also an
opportunity to design, test, and replicate creative ways to encourage people
to wash their hands with soap at critical times. This year’s theme: “Our
Future is at Hand – Let’s Move Forward Together,” highlights the importance
of frequent handwashing during this time of COVID-19 pandemic. In this
regard, the school – its faculty and staff, the learners, and all the
stakeholders fully supports this advocacy program by showing how to
properly wash our hands and by participating on the hand washing activity
every year.
The way to a healthy lifestyle and environment calls for coordinated

action as we actively work toward universal hand hygiene. No matter your
role, you can celebrate Global Handwashing Day! Frequently wash your
hands!

Linkages/Partnerships Brigada Eskwela Team, PTA

The Buenavista National High School through the Brigada Eskwela
School Coordinator and committees in collaboration with the Supreme
Student Government officers launched the Brigada Eskwela 2021 which
focuses on the engagement of school partners and stakeholders to ensure
learning continuity amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. With the theme
“Bayanihan sa Paaralan”, the Brigada Eskwela ’21 emphasizes the country’s
collective efforts in promoting collaboration for safe living and addressing
social issues and concerns in schools, at homes, and in the community.
The focus of this year’s Brigada Eskwela of the Buenavista National

High School is to strengthen school’s partnership with the internal and
other external stakeholders in ensuring the delivery of quality basic
education amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. In relation to this, the officers of
the Supreme Student Government fully support this implementation by
aiding the school during the Brigada Eskwela 2021 in the enrollment
section.
An officer was chosen and assigned as one of the school enrollments

in charge. The Supreme Student Government obeyed and followed with the
required health standards, which include following social distancing and
practicing proper hygiene consistent with the Inter-Agency Task Force on
Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) health protocols, Department of Health
(DOH) health standards, local and national quarantine rules, and all other
relevant protocols as detailed in DepEd and DepEd Task Force COVID-19
issuances, that is why, only one officer was designated per day to avoid
health issues and concerns in the time of COVID-19 pandemic.
