SCHOOL NARRATIVE REPORT IN ARALING PANLIPUNAN (AP) ADVOCACY

Teaching Araling Panlipunan is as enjoyable as learning areas, or at times, more


interesting to the learners because the medium of instruction is native tongue or Tagalog to
Penarandans. The lessons were delivered using varied strategies, appropriate to the
learners’ ages and capacity to develop targeted competencies for the day. In short
Penaranda North Central School is an advocate of AP thru its project “AP2 “ also known as
“Aralin ay Paiigtingin sa Araling Panlipunan”, a school level campaign to intensify the
use of IMs, technology and real-life situations that will let learners come up with actual
learning.
The time allotment of 30 minutes in Grades I-II and the 40 minutes in Grades III-VI
daily is consumed by providing lessons covered by quarterly list of competencies and
achieve the objective of the K to 12 basic education curriculum , that is, be a pillar of
learning- knowledgable in history, geography, politics, economics and other related
disciplines.
In as much as AP2 is concerned , the following techniques/strategies were applied in
teaching Araling Panlipunan by grade levels.
1. Charts, flash cards, puppets and other printed materials
2. Power point, videos, news excerpts and IT –based instruction
3. Actual learning strategies or pupil-demonstrated activities
4. Remedial or tutorial, as deemed necessary

“ANG AP AY TEKI” -Grade IV teacher uses her laptop and TV monitor to provide interactive
learning experience while teaching AP.
TEKI NA, MAY PRINTED OUTPUT PA- This is the learning style of Grade VI- after viewing,
they discuss to class their output.
TUKLASIN ANG ARALIN SA LABAS- Another learning technique of Grade IV teacher is to
bring her class outside the classroom and look for the lesson output: Know the primary
directions.
HANAPIN MO SA MAPA AT GLOBO- Grade III teacher does not rely on textbooks alone
but uses map & globe for the further learning experience.
GAYAHIN ANG NAPANOOD AT NAKITA SA ARALIN- Grade I teacher allows her pupils
do what they saw or viewed such as family practices- kissing the hands of elders, role –
playing as mother , father and children.
SAMUT-SARI sa AP 5- Teacher in Grade V leads her pupils in knowing latitude and
longitude, prime meridian and other geographic lessons in AP 5.
BISWAL ANG DAAN SA PAGKATUTO- Grade II teacher uses picture cards, chart aside
from powerpoint presentation. This aims to reiterate the learning believing in the saying
repetition results to retention.
