GED131 - Contemporary World

I'd like to start by wishing you a good day, Mr. Melvin Malupay. As a student, I promise to
participate in class, finish each assignment, and turn it in by the due date. Let me first introduce
myself; Hi my name is Airah Mendoza, I'm 27 years old, and I live in Marikina City. I am
delighted to have you as a teacher in our second semester.

First, let's define globalization, as defined by what I read and discovered online. Globalization is
the worldwide integration of international trade, investment, information technology, and
cultures. Globalization is driven by government policies that open economies both domestically
and internationally in order to boost development in poorer countries and raise living standards
for their citizens. Every one of us has an underlying philosophy.

This philosophy guides our actions, thoughts, beliefs, choices, perceptions, and almost every
other aspect of our lives. People are frequently unaware of their guiding philosophies. It makes
no difference whether a person is aware of it or not.

The term "globalization" refers to the increasing interdependence of the world's economies,
cultures, and populations as a result of cross-border trade in goods and services, technology, and
flows of investment, people, and information.

What is the impact of globalization on me as a citizen or student? The impact of globalization on

me as a student is ; Globalization improves students' ability to acquire and apply knowledge.
Globalization improves learners' ability to access, evaluate, adopt, and apply knowledge, to think
independently in order to exercise appropriate judgment, and to collaborate with others in order
to make sense of new situations.
