 I. Course Description:

English language education concentrates on the basics of the language including writing, Spelling, Grammar and Comprehension.

The series offers repetition and progression to provide a firm grounding in the language.

II. General Objectives:

English language education helps the children to learn the basics of the language that would form the foundation for its mastery in the

future. It also enables the students to use the grammar rules correctly and to develop their writing and communication skills.

Students are assessed on a regular basis through quizzes, activity sheets, chapter tests and homework assignments.

VI. Grading Policy

The current term grades are made up of cumulative (80%) and summative (20%) assessment grades.
For Grade 3, the teacher uses the following formula to calculate the current term grade:

(Average of Cumulative X 0.8) + (Average of Summative X 0.2)

Cumulative grades have six components.

1. C1: (Guided) Seat/ Class work done immediately after the lesson (worksheets, workbook,)
2. C2: Graded Homework
3. C3: (Unguided) Short Test (Quiz)
4. C4: Group Work or Project
5. C5: Notebook (maintenance of the notebook)
6 C6: Class Observation
