PART I: INTERNSHIP WRITTEN REPORT

I. Background of the Company / Company Profile

Conexus is divided into two departments where it provides two different services yet
similar and related. Services that are both related to Information Technology and Computer
Science. These are the Tech and Art department hence why the company is called ‘Conexus:
Tech and Art Center’. The Tech department focuses on computer sales and services. Conexus
is a computer store that supplies gadgets such as laptops and desktop computers, monitors,
computer parts and computer accessories. The company also offers computer repair service,
computer diagnostic and troubleshooting for both hardware and software, system cleanup,
and software/hardware installations. At the other end, Conexus also focuses on services that
are related to visual art. Conexus offers graphics and visual art commissions such as canvas
drawing portraits, digital art, graphics design, video editing, photo editing, 3D modeling, and
2D/3D animation.

The name “Conexus” came from the combination of the words; "Connection" and
"Nexus". The word “Connection” emphasizes the focus, mission and purpose of the
company: to help and contribute to better connections for everyone by supplying gadgets that
are used to communicate at an affordable price and bring people closer together. The word
connection also signifies and is a reminder of how important a good and positive interaction
between people is. May it be relationships with friends, family, coworkers, and partners,
significant-other or even with strangers. Conexus aim to show this importance by providing
good services to our customers and clients through a kind, collected and well-mannered way
of interacting. Connection is also related to the words; link, network and bond which are the
symbol for the company’s business partnership. Conexus refuses to see other computer stores
as competitors but rather, sees them as an opportunity for partnership by means of negotiating
for a mutual benefit. The word “Nexus” simply means middle, center, or core that symbolizes
the vision of the company; to see Conexus at the center or as the main tech and art service
provider in Baguio city. The theme color of the organization is blue or within spectrum
shades of Blue. The color blue is appealing to the eyes, relaxing and inviting which gives a
non-aggressive vibe. It represents peace, calmness, serenity, harmony and symbolizes the
opposite of War which suits what the company stands for.
When the meaning of the two words and the symbol for the theme color of the
company are summarized and combined together, it then gives the meaning of Conexus. It
means “The center or core of good and peaceful connection with the right and trusted
people”. This is done by offering a wide range of computer systems, maintenance and support
service to the customers and clients with the help of qualified and expert staff to provide
rightful solutions.
II. Practicum Program
Our OJT is under Conexus: Tech and Art located at Prudential Life Building,
Assumption Road. I was assigned to be as a Technical Support. Our supervisor was led by
Sir Micheal Patrick Canilao Dicang the owner of the company. Our responsibilities in the
shop were assembling/disassembling a system units and laptops, also we are repair, checkup,
diagnosing, reformat, keyboard replacement, installing windows/activate windows lifetime,
installing applications, network cabling, graphic design and photo editing. These tasks were
given to us in the period of time and we should finalize it on time.

III. Technical and Soft Skills Learned

Discuss the different skills learned from the company’s internship program. Cite the
tasks/accomplishments finished as well as the number of hours rendered. Include pictures/
screenshots to support your accomplishments.

 I learned editing photos .

 I learned to make Making and editing advertising post.
 Reformat and repair a system units and laptops.
 Installing windows using bootable USB flash drive.
 I have learned how to communicate with different people.
 I have learned how to manage my time.
 I have learned how to working as a group with my co-workers.

Other soft skills I picked up while working as an intern at Conexus: Tech and Art is
for unity, teamwork, and appropriate communication as we may aid ourselves to keep the
workflow that will lead on our confidence and the consistency into the shop. Knowing how to
think critically and solve problems is another talent that may be developed to make problems
easier to solve.

Some of the things we managed to do during our internship at

Conexus in the IT and art fields are listed below.
• Crimping Cabling and Photo Editing

• Router Configuration

• Cleaning and Assembly of system unit.

• Repairing Laptop

• Reformatting of system unit

IV. Recommendations for further improvement of the Company’s Internship
Program.(if any)
As an intern at Conexus: Tech and Art, I have experience working in an open space.
However, since this is my first time working in a shop, what I would recommend is having a
complete set of tools or equipment, both for the other interns' use and for the shop's layout
since it is only a small shop with 2 to 3 members. But aside from that, it would be
advantageous to have a large room so that workers could work effectively on fixing laptops
and using Photoshop, and so that consumers would be drawn in by the shop's layout, lighting,
and general aesthetic appeal.

V. Advise to future interns

I advised the other interns how to be more proactive and attentive when doing repairs,
troubleshooting, and system diagnoses. In order to improve their knowledge, abilities, and
readiness for future employment. Additionally, as interns, we should know how to respect our
coworkers and supervisors so that they will treat us equally. At the very least, this will let
them know that you are a decent person. Additionally, if you work in an office or another
setting, you should acquire basic manners. You should also be aware of your own safety and
the safety of others by using the appropriate tools and equipment.

Job Description

I was working as a editor and a Technical Support to resolve issues related to laptops,
system units, internet, and routers. Additionally, as technical support, we are able to
recognize and solve hardware and software problems as well as help clients set up software
on their devices and editing photos and making and editing advertising post. We also have the
stamina to remain positive and composed in the face of difficulties and the decision to know
when to refer a client to a supervisor, technician, or other qualified team member for
additional assistance.
