Today is September 19, 2023, and I began my student teaching journey with much enthusiasm and a
desire to obtain practical experience in the field of education. My first observation was at Mati School of
Arts and Trades in a Grade 7 - humility classroom, where I had the honor of observing the experienced
Science teacher, Mrs. Francisca Flores, and his/her dedicated students. My goal was to gain practical
insights into effective science teaching strategies.

On my first day of observation, I arrived early and met with Ms. Flores about the classroom
routine ,expectations and her class schedule . The classroom was well-organized, with desks clustered
together to encourage group work. My CT introduced me to the pupils, who greeted me warmly.

The classroom environment was well-prepared for the volume lessons, with visual aids and measuring
instruments on display. The lesson began with an engaging introduction that piqued the students'
interest in volumes. Ms.Flores used everyday objects like water bottles, beakers, graduated
cylinders ,stone and irregularly shaped containers to demonstrate the concept of volume. The students
were encouraged to estimate and measure the volumes of these objects, facilitating hands-on learning.

After that, my CT and I went to the other section, which is the Grade 7 perseverance class, to discuss the
same topic with them. Teacher Flores did the same thing with the other section, she prepared some
visuals and lab apparatus, such as a beaker and graduated cylinde and also stones, to explain the
concept of volume to them as well. Students were tasked with measuring the volume using the device.
They avidly participated and continued the discussiom till the end of the subject.

On September 20, 2023, the second day of observation. The emphasis turned to more complex volume
concepts, such as the volume of irregularly shaped objects and displacement method. Ms. Flores used
practical demonstrations and encouraged pupils to determine volumes using mathematical procedures.
The teacher also used multimedia presentations to further illustrate the subject, making it accessible to
students with diverse learning styles.

Following the discussion in Grade 7-humility, we moved on to the next section, where Teacher Flores
discussed the same topic with them in Science class. Throughout my observation, I observed how
Teacher Flores effectively conveyed the concept of volumes by incorporating a variety of teaching
methods and practical demonstration. The capacity of the teacher to create a dynamic and engaging
learning environment was clear in the pupils' active participation and excitement for the subject.
