COURSE OUTLINE

COURSE UNITS: 3 UNITS


COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is a course that focuses on the principle, development, and utilization of conventional assessment
tools to improve the teaching-learning process. It emphasizes the use of assessment of, as, and for
learning in measuring knowledge, comprehension, and other thinking skills in the cognitive, psychomotor
or affective domains. It allows students to go through the standard steps in test construction and
development and the application in grading system.

INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES:


At the end of the semester, the students should be able to:
1. Discussed the role of assessment in the improvement of student’s learning process
2. Developed sound assessment tools to improve student’s learning process
3. Utilized an assessment tool to identify the student’s learning focus
4. Utilized assessment tools to monitor the student’s learning progress
5. Utilized assessment tool to identify student’s learning achievement
6. Analyzed test data and enhanced an assessment tool to make it valid and reliable

POLICIES AND GUIDELINES


1. All Provisions of the State College Students’ handbook Shall apply.
2. Mutual respect and scholarly inquiry are two crucial pillars of your engagement in the course.
3. A class card is required to document the grades gained and to self-assess.
4. You will automatically be issued an incomplete grade when you fail to submit the Course Terminal
Assessment.
5. Assessment Tasks should be submitted promptly. Only those with meritorious excuses as stated in the
College Students’ handbook shall be granted with extension. Failure to do so shall review no credit for the
missed AT/s.
6. All Assessment Tasks shall be submitted individually following the format that will be discussed in the
class.
7. You will be responsible for informing the instructor of other specific needs from your end.
8. Reading List shall be updated from time to time.
9. Practice 5s before and after the class starts.
