SOP for Operation & Calibration of Laminar Air Flow

Purpose: This SOP outlines the procedure for the proper operation and calibration of the Laminar Air
Flow cabinet.

Scope: This procedure applies to all personnel responsible for operating and calibrating the Laminar
Air Flow cabinet in the laboratory.

Equipment and Materials:

Laminar Air Flow cabinet

Calibration tools (if applicable)

Sterilized materials (if applicable)

Safety goggles and gloves

Procedure:

Operation:

Ensure that the Laminar Air Flow cabinet is clean and free from obstructions.

Power on the cabinet and allow it to reach the desired airflow velocity.

Before beginning any work, disinfect the work surface and equipment as needed.

Perform all work within the laminar flow area, avoiding any sudden movements that could disrupt
airflow.

When finished, turn off the cabinet and clean the work area.

Calibration (if applicable):

Follow the manufacturer's instructions for calibration.

Use appropriate calibration tools and standards.

Adjust the cabinet as necessary to maintain the specified airflow velocity.

Document calibration details, including date, operator, and calibration standards used.
