Cigarette taken of MNHS grade 12

students.

Introduction

At the early adolescence of an individual curiosity has started to

capture their mentality and being adventurous has taken place in their

can avoid seeing them inside the campus smoking. The reason they smoke
even inside the campus where it prohibited smoking is because they are
already addicted to it.

The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between the

levels of awareness on cigarette smoking to the amount of cigarette they
take.
Research Question

This study aims to determine the level of awareness of Manapla

National High School Grade 12 student on the harmful effect of Cigarette
smoking for the academic year of 2017-2018.

Specifically, this study sought to answer the following questions:

students of Manapla National High School when grouped according to:
a. Sex
b. Age
c. Allowance

2. What is the amount of cigarette they take every day when grouped
according to:
a. Sex
b. Age
c. Allowance

Statement of Hypothesis
Given the objectives of the study, the following hypothesis is
formulated:
1. There is no significant relationship between student’s level of
awareness and the amount of cigarette they take.
Significance of the Study:

This study will be beneficial to the following:

Student – This study will help them realize what may be the effect of
cigarette smoking and be aware of it.

Parents – This study will provide beneficial information about smoking so

they will be aware on what will be the effect of cigarette smoking to the
children which can be possibly a smoker.

Teachers – this study will help them educate their students on what could
cigarette smoking bring into their bodies.

the rule and regulation in the school policy especially the prohibiting
of Cigarette smoking inside the school campus.

Out of school youth – it provide them information about the main causes
and effect of cigarette smoking that it can highly damage their health.

Future researcher – it help future researcher to get some information and

to know how much students are aware of the harmful effect of cigarette
smoking. This research will also inspire them look further information or
do experimentation to expand this topic.

Scope and Delimitation

This study will focus on the level of awareness of Grade 12 students of

Manapla National High School and its effect on the amount of cigarette
they take of year 2017-2018.
The limitation of the study is the time in conducting the study and the

Methodology

Research Design

Our research design is Single Subject Quasi-experimental because we are

determining the relationship between the level of awareness on cigarette
smoking and the amount they take every day.

Sampling technique

This research uses non-probability sampling specifically voluntary

sampling because our research is somehow personal and some of the
respondent will deny that they are smoking.

Data collection

In collecting Data we used Survey Gathering Techniques. We use this

type of technique to avoid hassle on getting information from different
respondents.
Statistical tools

In our study we uses regression as our statistical tool because it is

more likely suited on our study which is aiming to identify whether there
is relationship between level of awareness in cigarette smoking had an
effect or impact to the amount of cigarette they are taking every day.
