CHAPTER FOUR

RESULT AND DISCUSSION OF FINDINGS

This chapter presents various findings drawn from the study. The following results presented are
based on the research questions raised, which the study has sought to answer.

4.1 Demographic data of the respondents.

This segment presents the Class, Age Range and Gender category of the sampled respondents.

Based on Fig 4.1, 43% of the students were drawn from SSS1, 21% were drawn from
SSS2 and 36% were drawn from SSS3. This implies that SSS1 students featured most in this
study.

Fig 4.2 shows that out of 100 students used for this study, 88% were within the age range of 16-
19years while 12% were within the range of 20-23years. By implication, students within the age
range of 16-19years participated most in the study.

Based on gender category of the respondents, Fig 4.3 reveals that 35% are male while 65% are
female. This shows that female students featured more than male in this study.

Research question one: How has the effective usage of laboratory improved the quality of
knowledge and performance of students?

Table 4.1 shows the effective usage of laboratory. It was evident that most respondents agreed
strongly that they can retain biological facts more permanently from laboratory experience which
