We see so many books when we go to a bookstore. Usually we are not sure which
titles to choose from. Let me share with you tips on how to choose a book.
Firstly, you may start by looking for a book with an Interesting title. Sometimes you
can tell what the book is about just by looking at title. The title itself may tell you whether it
is mystery, adventure, horror or thriller. Then you may read the synopsis of the book in the
blurb, which is printed on the back of the book. This will give you better idea of what the
book is about.
Another way is to talk to your friends and family who likes reading. Find out if they
have read the book you are interested to read. If they have, ask them to tell you whether
or not it is worth your time. You may also ask them to recommend interesting books to
you.
Apart from that, you can also read book reviews. A will tell you book review contains
information about the author and the book written. Book reviewers will tell you whether
they like or dislike a particular book and give reason for their opinion. A book review can
be found in the newspaper, magazines catalogues and online.
Finally, you may look at the bestseller list. Sometimes a bookstore will have the top
sellers list of the month. This will give you an idea of the popular books that people like to
read. It may help you make a choice.

Recycling
Recycling, what is it?
Recycling means to reuse or remake something that we would normally throw in the rubbish bin.
Why do we recycle?
Recycling helps our planet because we conserve the planet’s natural resources. It helps reduce
pollution and greenhouse gases which cause global warming. For example, making new metal
cans is more difficult than recycling old ones. Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy
to power a computer for 3 hours.
You can recycle many things such as paper, card, metal, material, plastics (some plastics are
difficult to recycle), food waste (leftovers), cooking oil, mobile phones and garden waste.
Most of the above are put in the bin and taken to a landfill site. In the landfill the waste takes 100s
of years to breakdown. When the waste is breaking down it makes a gas called methane. Methane
is bad for the environment. Recycling stops some waste going to a landfill site.

Dengue and Zika fever are diseases spread by the Aedes mosquitoes. As these diseases may
cause death. It is everyone’s responsibility to keep the surroundings clear of mosquitoes.
Keeping mosquitoes at bay is not a difficult task. What you have to do is to keep a close eye on
places inside and outside your home where mosquito may lay eggs and breed.
First, look out for clogged drains outside your home. Mosquitoes like to breed in stagnant
water. So you should clean clogged drains as often as possible. Since mosquitoes breed in
clear, stagnant water, make sure there are no empty and uncovered containers lying around
the compounds of your house.
Also make sure there is no water in the flower pot plates. It is a good idea to scrub the
plates regularly to remove the Aedes eggs. If you keep plants and flower in vases, remember
to change the water every two days to prevent mosquitoes from laying eggs inside that them.
Another safety precaution is to use insect repellent that contains DEET. It has been proven
that mosquitoes dislike the smell of this substance. You may wear long-sleeved shirts and long
pants as another precautionary step.
Sometimes you need to store water due to water cut or rationing. In this case, buy a
chemical substance known as larvicide to put into uncovered water containers. It can prevent
aedes larvae from breeding in the water. The other alternative is to cover all containers that
you use to store water with.
Prevention is always better than cure. Be proactive and stop aedes mosquitoes from
spreading. Kill Aedes mosquitoes before they kill you.
