(Effectivity: All) during ground handling and damage the
steering linkage and nose strut.
TOWING (Effectivity: All) When spotting the airplane. do not push
(Figure 1 ) on the propeller or control surfaces.

With the tow bar connected to the towing lugs on the

upper torque knee fitting of the nose strut, the airplane
can be steered with the nose wheel when moving it by
hand or with a tug. Although steering is automatic
when the airplane is being towed by the nose strut,
someone should ride in the pilot's seat to operate the
brakes in the event of an emergency. Do not tow the
airplane with rudder locks installed. When using a tug,
observe turn limits marked on the nose gear strut.
When towing the airplane use a spotter.

Towing the airplane with the rudder

locks installed can cause severe dam-
age to the steering linkage.

Never exceed the turning limits marked

on the nose gear strut during ground
handling. The nose gear steering stop
block is designed to withstand the loads
normally imposed through steering from
the cockpit. not to prevent turn limita- Towing The Airplane (Effectivity: All)
